season ticket sales (17 Viewers)

If we want better players and a better chance of promotion/ playoffs ST has to go up. People wanting them to stay as low as possible for their own gain without increase have no idea about a progressive ambitious club. They must/need to increase year on year or we will be left behind .
If season tickets prices increased by say, on average £50 a ticket that would bring in an extra £1.1 million based on 22k sales. I think £50 would be a hefty increase and it doesn’t raise a game changing amount in terms of increased revenue. It may however be a step too far for a number of existing or prospective season ticket holders and that 22k figure starts to fall. That, along with decreased F and B sales, shop spends etc starts to eat into that £1.1M increase.
For those who are on a limited income,(and there are a lot of those in this region at the moment) but who love football and who love the City it will be a really difficult decision to find the money for more expensive tickets and many will quite rightly choose to spend on necessities rather than football.
It would be interesting to know if those who think our ticket prices are cheap would still say the prices should increase substantially if they were then in a position where they couldn’t afford to go?
I think it’s great that we are getting regular sell out crowds and that the atmosphere in the arena is fantastic for most games.
Obviously prices will increase but hopefully not to the extent that the golden goose is left dead on the floor.

we are a week behind but
a) we were in the play off picture for longer and
b) the season starts off later

so on that basis expect an announcement tomorrow

Totally agree, but if the club doesn’t increase prices we will stagnate. Instead of shopping at Waitrose for a better quality product we will be spending money on less quality players.
it’s a very hard balance to make if you want success.

Champagne lifestyle, lemonade diet… I’ve managed several people who drive ridiculously expensive cars that they could never afford outright.
A lot of society now that lifestyle/diet. Far too easy to do it also.

reality is prices have to go up, always a sweet spot for how much, but we all want the club to keep moving, as long as it’s done thoughtfully and with balance, fine with that.

Think we may see small increase up to 23, maybe 24k.

How many more people need to tell you that an extra million pounds isn’t the difference between getting extra quality players over a couple of Bassettes ??

That said, we may need that extra £1m to stand still. If we keep prices the same, we are likely to regress. New rent deal to address, and running costs will increase year on year.

The thing is the club outside of transfer windfalls is loss making. In the end prices will keep going up.

On that basis, why not hand out free season tickets?

You can’t have your cake and eat it, cheap prices for a premium product. Operating costs have increased significantly since the last raise in costs. Even on the premier league package, my ticket price per game works out at £23.91 per game (£550).

A £400 season ticket works out to £17.39 a game, which is a bargain, frankly. Isn’t there also a 0% finance option too to split the payments up?

42% increase! No thanks. :ROFLMAO:

Edgy this is pacific to the FZ as I think its been too cheap for the last 2 years, I wouldn't want a 42% increase across the stadium.

I do think all prices should increase as Doug kept it the same prices for last season as people are saying anything between 5% and 10% would be accepted by most fans.

You've missed the point a few people have made on this. No-one is suggesting that we don't try and maximise income to help with running costs, off the pitch improvements etc. Covcraig is suggesting that ST's need to be more expensive so that we can afford better players, when the reality is not true. Certainly not at the level we're at out now.

There has been a big gulf so I can sea why you would suggest this.

as a minimum Adult and child in FZ should not be less than an adult on their own in the other corner of that stand - even if they then make the 2nd child say £50 - so maybe Premium ST £550 Standard £450 FZ £400 + £50 per child

I get that and I am in the FZ with 2 kids. I won't be in there with 2 kids if the price increases by 42%. I can stomach an increase, but not to those levels.

There is a valid reason why it is a lot cheaper in there and it has been a great success in bringing families into the ground.

As long as we get vouchers on resales I'd be happy with this as a FZ member

Family zone is a hard one as £250 adult and £50 kid is a great deal. However I was paying £350 and £25 for the same seat three years ago which at the time still felt reasonable.

Would certainly understand the prices in this area going up although another consideration is the money I’m saving on ticket price ends up back with the club because it’s spent decking the kid head to toe in merch.

"Take it off topic" but then you go and post a link to the BBC website 🤣

Inflation has gone up, yes or no 🤔
is inflation the metric for reducing prices when the BoE targets 2% per year? prices will never go down, if inflation goes below 0 then it is deflation which is worse, much worse. what you want to be looking out for is wage growth

as i said there's a politics thread where people will help you understand GCSE level stuff

According to Labour prices will come down.

Inflation has gone up today, Shock horror. 🙈
Energy is coming down and predicted to stay down so quite substantial on its own.

Not sure how energy will stay down with a load of foreign private companies controlling that sector. It seems they offer a short term decrease in prices for the summer when they know demand is at its lowest and jack it back up again when we need it most 🤷‍♂️
