This may be controversial but King isn't an idiot.

He will have the data for the last season at the new prices, if his priority was 100% occupancy of corporate the prices would be lower. Clearly there is a push to make it more premium, and to be brutal, to keep out some of the people who were in corporate when it was cheap.

Although if he ended up with 2 people in the lounge every week that's clearly a fuck up but maybe that's aimed more at day trippers.

What owner wouldn't place 100% occupancy, or as near to, as a priority on one of their most exclusive packages?

You fill all of them (excluding those which are for the likes of Monzo and CBS etc) you're probably within the region of £1m in revenue added to the club's bottom line.

Maybe its a longer term thing. Could well be that the feedback from the higher end clients was they were put off by a load of coked up idiots being in corporate. Maybe there's a 3-5 year plan to increase occupancy at the higher prices. Maybe he wants some available for sale for individual games.

I think ultimately if it was full at a lower price and not full at a higher price the fact that the price hasn't gone down this year indicates he doesn't think its an issue.

Isn't this coming under responsibility of the lady that came from P.S.G. Obviously she has only just started. Not sure if she has any control
on prices or able to offer different packages.

There's a total of 46 boxes available and I'd say around half of that are filled on a permanent basis, maybe a little more. That's a bit more than 'some' being left available on a match-by-match basis. Also the take up for that won't be significant. I would guesstimate a handful extra at most would be purchased on any given home game.

I would agree with your first point he's clearly trying to attract a higher calibre of clientele to fill the remaining boxes which I have no issue with and certainly welcome, but in doing so he has brushed aside local businesses which will make up a significant proportion of the club's partnership revenue and there's an untapped revenue source which could be capitalised on if he worked with them.

DK isn't an idiot, but I also think there's also an arrogance where he believes he knows best when in reality the numbers suggest different.

Is it fact that the club's corporate packages haven't exactly been well received since DK arrived - Balcony bar roughly half full, only half of boxes are filled by permanent box holders and Mahou Lounge entirely empty with exception to two unfortunates.

I'm going to go with yes for that one Pete.
Sorry where are the figures?
Do you have them?
Prices and numbers etc etc
To make the same mistake two seasons on the trot is not good and id like to challenge it with facts and figures

Mahou Lounge only two tickets sold and I believe they've been taken off sale which indicates the club have either scrapped it completely or will revisit the pricing in the coming days/weeks. Balcony Bar tickets are still available for purchase but I'd say only around half have sold give or take.

Boxes not sure on numbers but suspect very few extra have been sold if any given the prices have gone up again, albeit marginally.

Why do we have only half of the corporate boxes and balcony bar full, at best, all the time then?
Because we're a Championship club. Get to the promised land and the waiting list for corporate will be massive as it was at HR.
My opinion is based on Club Coventry as thats why i sit. Under SISU it was awful. Hard to get served, hardly any staff, no food options. Now its packed every week, food availble, plenty of bar staff and overall a really good vibe in there before and after games. Every week its still packed after the game whereas before the bar didn't even re-open sometimes.

"Balcony bar roughly half full" so how come when you get there late you struggle to get a seat to eat your food.

They weren't against Leeds last season which was wasn't far from a sellout if memory serves.

This season with nearly 24,000 season tickets there's going to be less opportunity to get a seat in the Bowl, so more people will be using the balcony instead on a game by game basis.

We simply have an oversupply of corporate seats, far more than any other club in the league, yet we price it at the same level, and higher, than others. Supply and demand. Price it to fill it if that's the aim, or price it high and accept you often won't. There"s no real mystery here.

Needs a question though
