If so McDonald must be wondering why he was brought back... two late sub appearances when he could've been playing the whole match at Gillingham.

He's been brought back because we only had Clarke and Elliott and Elliott is out for the rest of the season. Would you rather cody was at Gillingham and not have have another striker on the bench?
