1. We badly need an inform Rudoni to unpick defences. Signs today but still a bit off the pace.

2. EMC is an utter beast when the mood takes him.

3. Unlike others above I thought today showed the limitations of Grimes. He's not a gamechanger

4. Torp carried the midfield today. Pleased he got the full 90 minute gig. Tackles, links up, breaks from deep. He's not Prem standard but still very good

5. Even though neither Wright nor Simms had the service nor did they look much of a threat anyway. The attack EMC excepted was a bit powder puff.

Frank needs to put an arm around Rudi and tell him to play it simple while he finds fitness and form too. He’s trying to do far too much and it’s having the opposite impact.

Spot on. We were all saying this today. Trying too hard, forcing stuff. Did some nice bits second half where he combined well down the left and looked a bit more back to his old self. I’ve no doubt his form will return soon.

Rushworth not much to do but did it well
MVE still sick but a great performance.
Wolfenden was very assured.
Bidwell despite the pre match melts had a steady game and played some great balls down the left.
Grimes does the dirty work, the silky work, and makes it all look easy.
Torp for me had his best game ever in midfield. Always in the game today and very influential.
Rudoni had a couple of awkward moments but did some very good stuff and there was more good than bad.
Mason Clark superb turn shot and goal. His best game yet in a City shirt by a long way and seems to be growing in confidence by the game.

Eccles and KKH were decent when they came on.

The rest were okay, nobody had a bad game today .

Looks to me that KKH and Woolfy are getting more minutes and showing what they are all about - I was not at all concerned to see Woolfy on the team sheet today with Thomas out.

Rudi is going to at his best after the next few games - indicators there today and not concerned.

A couple of very high quality additions in January and we'll be bossing teams off the park.

A word about Swansea, they might lack a bit of cutting edge. But they are comfortable in possession and have a lot of technically good players. They move the ball well and quickly. Their defence is very good and the amount of shots they blocked was down to good defending rather than our deficiencie.

I liked their 17, was pleased to see him taken off. Not sure if it was a knock or tactical but I thought he was good. A bit wasteful at times perhaps but good on the ball. Galbraith (30?) I think it wss good too.

Best performance ive seen from EMC, in a city shirt.
Now hes set the standard, weve all seen what he is capable of, we need to see it every week.

MvE did very well considering hes still clearly suffering from his recent illness.

Rudoni still worryingly below his normal high standards.

Sakamoto was quit second half (by his standards)

Grimes was quality as usual.

Simms and Wright badly need a goal.
Apart from the fact he was dropped after going on a run, I'd expect him to score when Haji's out next time, anyone see anything regards his demeanor at the final whistle, general play?

Must just be me who thought Bidwell was fine today.
I can't understand the comments about Bidwell, I thought he handled the brazillian guy Ronald pretty well, he got stuck in wasn't really done for pace and apart from the crosses which lets face it Simms seemed like he was in a daydream yesterday and never put himself out to try and get on the end of any, so he never really had anyone to aim at, not that they were great crosses to be fair. Bidwell was part of a defence that kept a clean sheet and lets not forget he's hardly played of late. I would imagine that Lampard may rest him against Ipswich unless the tech team say that Bidwells fitness levels are still good enough because Brau is still a little naive and against Ipswich we need everyone on point!

I was really pleased with that cameo from Eccles yesterday. He did really well when he came on. The moment where he kept that long ball in play in front of the East stand by tipping it on and running onto it was really lovely. Well deserving of the round of he’s one of own that rang out afterwards. He’s grown so much in skill and confidence under Lampard. As a Cov kid who likes to see an another Cov kid in the shirt I bloody love it!

Torp and EMC outstanding today. Special mention for Eccles when he came on. Bidwell is actually getting quite sad to watch.

The Bidwell comment is just nonsense. Just what I’d expect from you.

Rushworth 7 Why do clubs keep appointing Aled Williams?

MVE 7 Not at his best but so much of how we play is down to what only he can offer
Woolfenden 7 Shaky start but was ultimately the better of the two CBs
Kitching 7 Went walkabout a couple of times and lucky to not be punished but was excellent on the ball
Bidwell 5 Feels like I watched about a third of the game watching him float first time crosses onto a Swansea head

Grimes 8 MOTM He ran the show, Swansea must hate watching him
Torp 8 Great in the challenge
Rudoni 5 Seems to have convinced himself he’s brilliant while he was injured

Sakamoto 7 Incredible work rate as usual
Simms 6 Half decent hold up play but without much product, should have scored
EMC 8 Totally dominant

Eccles 7 Breath of fresh air with his energy and composure
Wright 7 Just needs to do better than Simms, and he did
KKH 7 Pretty good MVE impression
Brau N/A Quickly becoming the new Tavares

To be fair to Simms, Wright has played way more than him and so had more chance to score than him

Tbf Simms was unlucky not to score with that header, I originally thought it was a bad miss but when I got home and saw the highlights it was actually an excellent save.
Both Simms and Wright have come up against some inspired goalkeeping just lately.

No, it was a bad miss. Header aimed at the line or the roof of the net was needed but he fluffed it. We're not creating that much so he has to take them when they're on a plate like that.

He should have scored it.

The keeper made a good save but he should have been given no chance.

Thats footy for you.
Swansea had just as good a chance to equalise and the guy fluffed it from inside the 6 yard box.
The difference with Simm's effort was that he got decent contact and got it on target.
If he heads it straight and the keeper saves it. then every expert on here says he should of headed it downwards.
Sometimes you just have to give credit to the keeper.

Must just be me who thought Bidwell was fine today.
When JDS plays, his use of the ball and retention of possession is exceptional.
Bidwell is always going to fall short of those standards, and that is why JDS is an automatic first choice. Thought Bidders was fine today, even though I kept thinking JDS would have done better in the same situation when passes went astray.
Both Bidders and JDS are not great crossers of the ball, particularly if the opposition have a dominant goalie. They are both rubbish at shooting with JDS being marginally worse.
EMC was good with Bidders behind him.
The question is, can Bidders play two games in such a short period of time?
Bidders was a solid, dependable LB for us until he was crocked (deliberately in my opinion) by that Southampton loanee playing for Sheff Wed. Never quite got back up to speed since. Hope he can regain his form.
