What's the point?

Interesting that a WUM account on Twitter that promotes Cov Utd Ladies is the only person to like / RT it so far.

The irony is they want somebody with financial standing to come in and pay for us us to the premier league but will go on about solidarity with Bolton and Bury..

Just reads like a "Please dont forget about us" article.

Criminy, who writes that shite. It's like a small child's wishlist to santa, it just needs a plea for world peace to complete it. They want owners with the financial clout to get us to the Premier league, so not Hoffman and friends then.

I’m really not sure that’s my priority. I’d prefer to be in the top 6 by Xmas

Also I don’t now want to return to the Ricoh at any price it needs to be sustainable. If the trust don’t get that I am a little worried

Not only do they want owners with deep pockets to get us to the PL, but they also want influence and a seat on the board.

Not read it but if they’re not pushing for fan ownership what’s the point in them?

Fan representation rather than fan ownership a better angle?

tbf, the main article says:

Sky Blue Trust said:
Develop the best possible method of involvement of supporters in the management and ownership of the club.

So that doesn't have to be total control.

I mean in the same way the CPGB pushes for more NHS funding.

For me the Trust should be pushing for fan ownership of at least the land for a new ground or a share in ACL if not outright ownership of the club. Not sure they should care about the owners identity myself.

It's interesting that they mention in the last 12 years we have been relegated twice and been in exile twice, but fail to mention in the last 3 years we have been promoted, won a cup final and had two trips to Wembley. You almost wonder if they were supporting us or Oxford United/Exeter during those two games just so they could have something else to blame Sisu for.

Once in a cup for league one teams and below and once in league two play offs.

I bloody loved both days, but doesn’t take away from the fact that when sisu took over we played in Coventry and were in the championship. Neither happen now. I can accept us playing in a lower league, I can’t accept us playing elsewhere with no plan to get back

To be fair, I’d swap both Wembley days for the last six years having been Championship football

Best ever owners. A cup win, two Wembley appearances, and a top six finish in some league somewhere.

When I saw the thread title I was expecting something new. Possibly a call to arms to boycott Wasps, or protest against the Council at public forums and community meetings.

Instead, seems to be the same old drivel of knocking the owners (TBF, quite correct), but now with a half hearted mention they they'll engage with the other parties.

I await the "engagement" with no real confidence that anything will change in terms of challenging them - and there is no appetite to do anything to hasten the return of our club to Coventry, other than moan about the owners.

If this is the result of the thoughts Neil had on how we could progress the situation and he was keen to express them to the Trust board ... its about as impactive and forgettable as a B movie.

I sort of get what you mean, and am not defending Sisu, but we were losing money hand over fist at that level, we were 17th or thereabouts for a quite a while, with a wage bill of 8 million per year... So it would take something pretty drastic for us to have spent the last 6 years in the championship.

Bore off you narcissistic cunts.... it’s got to a stage where I’d prefer Joy seppala and Tim Fisher running us forever rather than these bellends making any decisions.

Nobody genuinely gives a shit what your aspirations are. Just close down your shitty little wasps sucking society and let us fans pick up the pieces

We are probably in a better position in terms of wage bill and players. A young squad, still improving, wage bill not as high. Where as to have remained it would have meant us muddling along over spending by millions just to hang on. We now have a bit of momentum, the club (the football part of it) isn't such a basket case. However the same issues remain. We don't have a ground, we are currently paying in Birmingham...

Agree, love to be back up but it needs to be sustainable. The last time after relegation we had a lot of players stealing a wage and not part of a recognised system. Relegation was inevitable really

I wouldn't.

Happy with our progress and sustainable improvements.

Loving what's going on at the moment. Enjoying going to the football and the experience. Really on board with what is being tried to be achieved.

See Neil from the Trust has been interviewed in a paper (screen shotted (below) from FB but don't know/can't see what paper)
Managing to get a voice.....would love to see full article.
When is Wasps first home game?...Less than 2 weeks?
Trust very quiet. Looks like no chance of anything action wise for their first game.
Thoughts??

Have always thought we should do something at their first game. The consensus on here however seems to be that people would rather go to MK...

Have said previously it would be typical of the "Trust" to organise it purposely on a date that city fans would struggle to attend... eg the MK Don's awat game or even a "home" game, knowing full well what would happen.
The first game is not actually a league game so I am led to believe, it's a cup game where squad players are likely to be used... (another reason why the trust might make a token gesture to do that as attendance/interest not likely to be as high)

Personally, I'd have thought the bigger campaign against franchising would involve turning up outside Wasps, and avoiding MK. That's what you need to sell the Trust.
