Hate it when talented players disappear to shite Arab leagues for the money.

Swedes, Irish, Moroccans... bring back the glory years. Unfortunately the Irish national team is significantly more shite than it was then.

Keisuke Gotō. 20 years old and already a Japan international, and he's 6'3".

He is currently on loan at Sint-Truiden from Anderlecht, and his stats this season (2025/26) have been more than solid, 10 goals and 6 assists in a very average squad.

Worth noting we don't just have to look at bargains from the likes of the Scandi leagues anymore. A Prem team, even a newly promoted one if we can sell our ambition, can pull bottom half players (maybe higher in some cases) from Spain, Italy, Germany no problem.

Only heard of him because of the rumour from @Saddlebrains.

Eric Martel. Monster defence stats, only 23 and available on a free this summer.

Can also play at CB which means we could use him in a back three if needed.

Looks decent, although I’m not sure if he’d be prem ready

For a free and with Onyeka in the door, I think it’s a risk we could take.

Nothing is free. Our transfer policy has to be very deliberate. We aren't in a position to speculate

lol probs a 5 million signing on fee, a free transfer is never free. Cb is the position we need to spend at least 15 million on a single player maybe even 20

I agree but no transfer is without risk and I think personally he could step up if not now then 100% with Lampard and co working with him

He’s been linked to bigger teams than us. It would be a bit of a coup on a free

One cb in for 15/20 million then another for 5-10 million. Or even one like Micheal Keane on a ‘free’ with a big signing on fee and decent wages. I’d look at the lad from Burnley as the cheaper one, esteve

Someone on here about a year or two said Gabriel Busanello was pretty much the best player in the Scandinavian leagues, he’s 27 and a LB, is he worth us still looking at?
