Full of praise from the coaching set up in Japan

Yeah, that's what I took from reading the screen shot as well tbf.

Takahiro Sakamoto, currently shining in the Premier League, makes a national team comeback after about five years since June 2021👏

Manager Hajime Moriyasu expressed his expectations, saying, "If he maintains his current condition and further builds his experience, I believe he can be a solid asset for Japan in the next World Cup!"

One of our most dedicated, hardworking players. From a horrific injury to a regular PL starter and international callup in 2.5 years 🩵

It just shows what playing in the Premier League does. He is playing no better than he did on many occasions last year but because we are in the Premier League he is "perceived" to be playing better. Not sayjng it is not deserved because it totally is.

(y) agree, expressed what I was thinking but couldn't word quite right. Another example of the effect of Premier League exposure!

On a similar note, I wonder how close Torp is to a Danish call up?

Agreed. It’s when people say ‘I prefer the Championship’.. No, we have to aim to establish ourselves as a Premier League club

Torp will still be some way off that I think, he's only had one substantive appearance. Look at somebody like Norgaard who was a PL mainstay at Brentford but didn't really start much for Denmark.

I bloody love the man and always will 😍

He needs a new contract give him a massive bag like he deserves till the world cup then he can go and finish his career back home 😁

Probably my favourite ever player

Well done Tats! Great quotes from the Japan manager saying he can be apart of the next world cup squad if he keeps it up too, definitely highly rated. At least now he’s a Premier League player. A top top bloke hard worker and good player

And like i'll never miss a chance to say every time there is a new thread about Sakamoto, a great example of the benefits of boots on the ground scouting over purely data driven.
Data can only tell you so much, but watching someone you can tell exactly how they fit into what you want
