Peter Ndlovu for me.Most successful 'let's take a punt' signing we've made?
He's been unlucky not to have a hatful of assists this season, and is integral to how we play.
Dunno how you’re measuring ‘take a punt’ (players like Gyokeres and Huckerby cost similar and delivered more etc) but considering how quickly he adjusted to a new country (and language), and how much effort and entertainment he provides, he will always be a cult hero to me.Most successful 'let's take a punt' signing we've made?

But he has had a hatful of assists. Great signing and such a down to earth guyMost successful 'let's take a punt' signing we've made?

I mean ones where it wasn't necessarily a concerted attempt to strengthen a specific part of the team, but a 'he's got some qualities, it may work, it may not, let's go for it' type signing.Dunno how you’re measuring ‘take a punt’ (players like Gyokeres and Huckerby cost similar and delivered more etc) but considering how quickly he adjusted to a new country (and language), and how much effort and entertainment he provides, he will always be a cult hero to me.
The scout went to view a different player entirely and came back saying forget him but we've got to take a closer look at this Japanese winger.I mean ones where it wasn't necessarily a concerted attempt to strengthen a specific part of the team, but a 'he's got some qualities, it may work, it may not, let's go for it' type signing.
And also ones where if it doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world. A win-some-lose-some signing.
Huckerby probably was a signing like that, tbf, but I think they'd seen enough of Vik to know he'd be an asset, even if he surpassed expectation.
Such a technical player and that showed by the finishWhat a hit btw for that goal. Hit so clean
He, a bit like Simms, always gets pushed towards the crowd to take plaudits when they are the assister and if it's due to their work rate or final ball etc.Sakamoto is all round brilliant, from skill to work rate to likability. He also seems really humble and unflashy and reluctant to take the limelight he deserves. I remember that video of him running along Binley Road when he was getting fit after his back injury. Just so relatable
Think Tats jumped a bit early. When he did it, my first thought was 'please land safely'Defender dumped him going for a header again didn't they, penalty area too?
Just like his other goals this season. Wonder what he needs to do to push for a Japan call up?What a hit btw for that goal. Hit so clean
Japan always have technical players. Alot dotted about the top leagues now. Not sure who plays RW thoughJust like his other goals this season. Wonder what he needs to do to push for a Japan call up?
They’ve got a bunch of really talented players there, Ritsu Doan from Eintracht Frankfurt (valued at £21m), Takefusa Kubo of Real Sociedad (£29m), Daizen Maeda from Celtic (£11m) has also played wide right on occasion.Japan always have technical players. Pity that, if he were younger and playing this way he’d probably have a call up this season. They’ve got a bunch of really talented players there, Ritsu Doan from Eintracht Frankfurt (valued at £21m), Takefusa Kubo of Real Sociedad (£29m), Daizen Maeda from Celtic (£11m) has also played wide right on occasion.
Koki Saito from QPR did get a call up recently though and whilst I think Tatsu is a better player than him, Saito is only 24 and likely seen as a decent longer-term prospect.

100%. Japan play Ghana in a fortnight. Would be lovely to see a Tatsu/BTA h2h.Pity that, if he were younger and playing this way he’d probably have a call up this season.

Because that's ALLOWED in the new rules of the game that most of us don't know or weren't made aware of.Before their 3rd the defender was holding on to Tats shirt for a least 10 yds dragging him down. Why was a foul not given ?
New rules? Stating what?Because that's ALLOWED in the new rules of the game that most of us don't know or weren't made aware of.
That anything goes including gouging, spitting biting.New rules? Stating what?
