Ah nice one! Looks a great course.

Watched the Opening Ceremony last night and the abuse the NY Govenor got from her own crowd when her name was read out, was insane! Could be toxic!!

In the past US crowds have been known to be unsporting to the Europeans when taking shots etc. In the current climate under Trump I expect that to happen quite a bit. Hope I'm wrong.

It’s certainly the golfing event that interests me most, though that I can only identify two of those Europeans and none of the Yanks shows how much I follow it.

Good memories of my dad screaming at the telly in the early hours in past events

Lets keep the 'T' word out of this chat ffs... 🤣
BSB and Dom will be at it all day else...:p

The New Yorkers are notorious for being loud mouth pricks, but there'll be some good banter as well.
I saw this morning Fitz said his parents are not attending due to the abuse they got in the last U.S one, and thats pretty sad tbf.

I have a mate who is a fireman at Bethpage Fire Station and he was there yesterday and said it was insane for a practice day.
I had a chance to go and stay with him, but i would have had to remortgage the house!!

Wish i had now.. :ROFLMAO:

Did you see the clip of Rory doing his top button up on a tee box and and an American shouted, 'you don't need a button to choke Rory'!

Both McIlroy and Lowry turned round to say fair play to the fan.

I think Europe need win that first match to start quietening the crowd down. DeChambeau and Thomas are probably Americas 'loudest' players in terms of getting the crowd going. If we can get that point, it could set the tone for keeping them quiet.

My predictions for the foursomes:

Rahm/Hatton vs DeChambeau/Thomas - EUR

Aberg/Fitz vs Scheffler/Henly - Halve

McIlroy/Fleetwood vs English/Morikawa - EUR

Hovland/McIntyre vs Cantlay/Schaufelle - US

Gutted Bob and Vic had a bad 17th and 18th but 3-1, we'll take that.

The US were 3-1 up after the 1st session in Rome though so it's imperative we have a good afternoon session in the 4 balls.

It would be a great honour if the trophy could be renamed the Charlie Kirk trophy just for this year. He was adored by both Europe and the US and I'm sure the players would be honoured to win it.

It's the standard of golf that has been amazing. Generally US haven't played badly just Europe have been at another level so far.
Also it's not like the old Ryder Cups these Europeans mainly play in the US now so the conditions aren't a factor like they used to be.
Plus nearly all the Europeans are ranked in the top 50 so it's not like there's a quality gap like there used to be when Europe would rely on their 6 or 7 top players scoring heavily

And when it comes down to it we just always seem to have a better team spirit and togetherness (in defeat and victory). Great to see
