Don’t think robins trusts him to see out games if we were losing i think he’d be our first sub

McCallum has been struggling in the last few games, but he is better at defending than Giles.

This has been discussed on multiple threads.
Are you going to start a new topic for every single player?

Giles has actually played more minutes than McCallum & they have an identical amount of starts & sub appearances.

McCallum is seen as more reliable defensively though, particularly against big physical sides which we've had a run of recently.

Why would Wolves recall him? Which other Championship team is he going to walk into?

Thought Giles looked far more effective in an advanced role. Would like to see him competing with O’’Hare for a first team place.

Seems an obvious attacking threat and can understand why fans want to see him in the team (me included). Can also carry us up the pitch - a sort of poor man's Tommy Hutchison.

Giles did okay in his run in the team but since McCallum has come into left back our defence has been better not conceding many goals so unless we play Giles further forward which would mean changing our shape I think he’ll carry on play second fiddle to McCallum.

@better days any word your end mate
Not heard anything at all
It's slightly confusing
Giles was brought in last year to give us options but was hardly used in the first team which must have been frustrating for the lad
It was a surprise when he came back again this season but this time he was involved in the majority of games before Sam came back
He seems to have been more of a squad player since Sam's return, sometimes starting, other games on the bench

I think he could look to get game time elsewhere , McCallum I hope does not get recalled otherwise we could have a problem

Simply he’s the 2nd best left back at the club. McCallum a better player (defensively). Can’t understand why he brings on Shipley instead of Giles mind

Personally, I’d play Giles higher up the pitch when we’re playing ‘the box’. But, as a wing back, McCallum is just a better defender and with our defensive issues earlier on in the season, it makes perfect sense to sacrifice his attacking skill.

We haven’t scored in 315 mins keep Sam at LWB but maybe we should use Giles in the AM roles

We’ve had Luton, Huddersfield and Stoke at home - they are good teams.

I didn’t watch all of the Sheffield Wednesday match, but we had the chances to score.

If anyone wants to know why McCallum > Giles, hopefully this first half is all the evidence you need

Hope you’re listening to the commentary ‘it doesn’t surprise me Ryan Giles has been replaced’

When was the last time he had to drag McCallum off for Giles?
