It's not. He's exceptional. He can hold on to shots most keepers have to parry. He commands his box. He's as good with the ball at his feet as most keepers in the league above. I don't see a weakness in his game. You've got to be on the wind-up.

Agree with most of that, he's our best keeper since Oggy. But his distribution with his feet isn't anything special IMO.

He wouldn't come out on top for stuff like save %, goals prevented etc if he were Brad Collins in the same lineup.

Man City wanted Trafford back for the home-grown status to add to their squad. You can't deny that he is a good keeper but was never going to be first choice for a side like Man City that can buy practically any keeper they want (which they did).

Would be coup if we could get him on loan next season as he is very similar to Rushworth!

He literally was going to be first choice this season before Donnarumma became available last minute

That's the information you read in the media. I can tell you for a fact that even when they signed Trafford, they would still be searching for a 1st team GK!

Like I've said, Trafford is a good keeper, but he wasn't their 1st choice. Man City knew they could get him on the cheap and be classed as a home-grown player to qualify for the prem and champs league rules.

Trafford has openly stated in an interview that he expected to be City's No.1 and didn't realise they were going to move for Donnarumma?

Which suggests to me City verbally told him he was going to be their first choice for this season but then changed their mind.

Donnarumma was always going to leave PSG. They spent big on that new keeper and had told him they wanted someone better with his feet than him going forward.

I think this is only half the story really. There were contract negotiations between PSG and Donnarumma but the PSG sporting director admitted he wanted a huge increase which they just weren't willing to agree to as their policy on wages was changing.

It was to get him back in the squad so eventually can sell on for fee. Just remember football is a business.

Not necessarily. Could probably get him for that or there about a with a buy back clause from city.

Hes definitely not garbage considering the only reason he’s not City number 1 as they managed to sign the best GK in the world

IMHO. Rushworth is one of the best in Championship and better than some in the Premier League and is getting better every game he plays .His shot stopping and retention of the ball when doing so is better than many in the premier league.

Well it wasn't was it.

They aren't ever likely to make a profit on him, especially when he's not even No.1.

His £27m rising to £31m fee will probably put him in the top 10 most expensive keepers ever.

Well, it was. The price of English footballers at a young age is huge! Do you understand FFP when it comes down to home grown players? Also, they would have had a sell on clause from Burnley so that figure quoted is fake. If they had been 20% which is minimum for a decent man city prosepect who is in the international set up when they sold him. Take the 20% of that figure and it's the true value of what Man City paid Burnley.

Forthcoming, they can Sell Trafford in 2/3 years for the same money you quoted and still make a profit and counts towards there FFP.

I'm not saying your wrong but when it comes to transfers like this it can get complicated.

Like I've said football is a business.

The FFP bit of this is so irrelevant it’s mildly painful.
