I think he's the best city keeper I've watched. He has a massive future, unfortunately it won't be with us,

Not necessarily, if we're in the Premier League next season they couldn't loan him back to us again at the very least.

Only one more year on his Brighton contract after this. Seems to love it here. Lots in our favour for the move…

I don't want it to happen, but, Brighton would be crazy not to offer him another contract.

I’m sure they will. You’d have to think though that we’d make him one of our highest earners if we did sign him, so Brighton might not be offering much more money… Plus, he knows he’s wanted and trusted etc. here and he’s a northern lad so we’re closer to home…

With your name I’d assume you’d know what price it’ll take 😃

When we go up we will sign him , after all where would you rather live leamington or Brighton? Brightons a shithole.

Well as the game was on Sky I'm sure there will be lots of footage from multiple angles they can post showing this.

Not like Sky don't like to pick up things involving us and replay them to death until we end up with someone suspended.

Signing of the season, player of the season, best GK I've seen in a City shirt. I've gone from holding my breath whenever the opposition were within 40 yards of goal to not worrying when they're in the penalty area.

God, I just want him to stay. Can he please stay?

I am sure when and if we are mathematically promoted then a deal will be looked at - it would not feel right him in the opposition goal next season - i just hope he wants to stay and we can pay for him . I believe he likes it here at Cov

It's definitely giving COH in 2020 vibes, he seems very happy here

He seemed keen as mustard on us in an interview recently - and have no doubts that a) FL and DK will be buttering him up and b) if we get promoted, I’d put a large bet on DK sticking in an offer Brighton just couldn’t refuse. Got to get ourselves over the line first!

the advantage he has by moving to us, rather than new contract at brighton, is that he's trusted here. that counts for a lot as a goalkeeper. it allows you the odd mistake as the club and fans know how good you are. he gets first team at brighton, say they start the season poorly, say there are a couple that he might have done better with, all of a sudden their fans are wanting a more experienced goalkeeper in. a prem club has 2 or 3 goalkeeprs who should be good enough to start games so it is easier to be dropped if you dont perform well.

he does they same for us we will be patient as we all know his quality.

it also helps that it has already happened to him once. great season at swansea- went to hull to be their number 1. only played 3 games that season.

i think our best chance was trying to get him on a loan with a buy option. and tbf to doug he went for it but it was refused by brighton

Wasn't it because we tried to get him for 5m?

Lots of reports on the Brighton side that they will be selling Verbruggen in the summer and Rushworth will become their #1, which is very feasible.

I think it’s likely a case of enjoy him while he’s here. Don’t ever fall in love with a loan player.

Well the story is he won’t sign a new contract with them as he has a year left and he’ll only do so if he’s made 1st choice keeper. I think they’re looking for a top keeper abroad so there’s a chance we can get him.

Suspect it will be at hefty price tag and they have some first dibs on buy back.

Where have you seen this about the top keeper abroad?

Whatever it costs just sign him. Even if we come straight back down we'd at least make our money back.

If he's not England number 1 he'll certainly be involved in the setup in a year or so.
