what we want is someone as good if not better than Rushworth and someone that can kick much much better, obviously if Rushworth could kick better I would welcome him with open arms but his kicking is feckin shite

We should sign him in the January window. I would have thought 5m would be enough, as he has never featured for them and is loaned out. The fact he is doing well for us atm is neither here or there at this stage, he could turn quickly into a flop. So 5m should get it done and worth the punt.

They turned down 5.5m supposedly in the summer. he would cost us closer to double figures

Sorry but a goalkeeper is never in striker territory. He has not played for them in the premier league. 10m as you are suggesting would give us a whole new bunch of options. You're inflating worth. If we could not get him for 5/6m then I'd say no.

If we're going to be offering for Rushworth, we'll have been promoted.

If we get promoted, we will need a Premier League class goalkeeper. That would cost us significantly more than £5m.

Dovin may yet be that keeper in the future, but he's still very inexperienced, and coming back from a very serious injury. We will have to buy someone; I would be very happy for that someone to be Rushworth.

Verbruggen was around 22 when Brighton signed him and he cost £16m

We should have dropped the £10m we were dangling for Charlie Hughes on him in the summer.

If Brighton decided they wanted to sell the fee would be astronomical now.

They turned down £5.5m, if the rumours are to be believed.

I'd imagine we'd be looking significantly north of £10m. He's in their plans, we'd have to make it worth their while.
He might be in their plans but at end of loan he has 1 year left plus 1 year extension at Brightons choosing. Hes spent his career at brighton on loan and at moment he's still at best a bench warmer or cup keeper, next season he will be off to another championship club for yet another loan. Timings right for them to cash in if they get a hint that he wants first team football and 8-10m should do it.
But signing him should be of the utmost importance.
Reality is, dovin won't be the same keeper he was for a few years, acl tear on a keeper that needs sudden high power jumps and dives is a very long recovery.

Wasn't there an interview with him in the summer where he said he wanted to help us do well, and that he then hoped that would lead to something permanent?

It's a shame for dovin, who was looking really good pre injury and apparently starting to attract some interest.

Hopefully he can come back from injury just as good as he was.

Rushworth looking class at the moment though.

Kelleher at Liverpool, despite all his premier league and Champions League experience and how good a keeper he was, was sold for Just 12 million - I’d be suprised if they get anywhere near 10m for Rushworth at this stage based on that.
