I'm confident he'll turn out to be very good - let's not forget Wright had been written off after a month.A mistake. We needed an experience head but we'll have to live with it or send him back in Jan.
I think the point about questioning Rushworth’s performance so far is valid. We can’t start using preseason friendlies for point scoring though surelyIncluding the friendly he’s been at fault for at least 4 goals. How many more bollock ups is he allowed?
He might do. I believe that you build a team around the best keepers. All the good sides have been that wayI'm confident he'll turn out to be very good - let's not forget Wright had been written off after a month.
What do you think he’s telling them to do? Would the same keepers otherwise be great?Does the goalkeeping coach ever have to pay rhe price for regressing multiple keepers ?
I dont think they have. Rushworth has been at fault in every game we've conceded for a goal. Hes no better than Wilson on the showing so far and that shit show from him today for the second goal was entirely down to him. The first goal if Collins had parried the ball out like that from the free kick you would have been calling him out.Thomas and Kitching have been at fault for just as many. Let’s start Jake Bidwell and Callum Perry against Norwich I reckon.
Well rushworth was amazing at Swansea, Brighton wouldnt sell him for 6 mill .. comes here looks like Lee burge wtfWhat do you think he’s telling them to do? Would the same keepers otherwise be great?
The idea that one coach is to blame for various keepers (most of them cheap stopgaps) making mistakes seems fanciful to me.
The notion that one coach is going to turn a £6 million keeper into Lee Burge in less than a month without anyone noticing just doesn’t make sense to me.Well rushworth was amazing at Swansea, Brighton wouldnt sell him for 6 mill .. comes here looks like Lee burge wtf
Was he though? 10 clean sheets (I think) was way down the division table and they had Grimes in front of himWell rushworth was amazing at Swansea, Brighton wouldnt sell him for 6 mill .. comes here looks like Lee burge wtf
Steady on now!comes here looks like Lee burge wtf
Yea no issue with the first tbhHave to say I thought Rushworth’s ‘errors’ on both free kicks were extremely understandable. The first one bounced awkwardly in front of him and the second was a very clever bit of improvisation.
Its an exaggeration .. fact is teams do improve on coaches and our keeper one seems to have overseen some serious goalkeeping regressionThe notion that one coach is going to turn a £6 million keeper into Lee Burge in less than a month without anyone noticing just doesn’t make sense to me.
We’ve done this to death of course, but for the most part he’s worked with keepers plucked from L1 who have generally put in L1-grade performances. Its an exaggeration .. fact is teams do improve on coaches and our keeper one seems to have overseen some serious goalkeeping regression

Maybe its time for change , its not an strange thing to request. We’ve done this to death of course, but for the most part he’s worked with keepers plucked from L1 who have generally put in L1-grade performances.
The exceptions are Dovin who has come on promisingly in his first few months here, and Wilson who has improved exponentially.
oggy is approaching 70I know I’ll get the usual shoulder biters ranting in reply but I don’t understand why we didn’t get Ady back to work with Lampard and his ex-Chelsea crew and why Oggy isn’t given the chance if at least helping out.
Blah blah.
Dovin came in already with a good reputation anyway tbhLet's not forget that more than a few wrote off Dovin after a few games and were calling for Wilson to return to the side...
Great. Alex Ferguson was winning stuff at 72.oggy is approaching 70
People were desperate to get rid of Oggy as a coach as the keepers weren't improving enough. At least they weren't going backwards like we see now.Get Oggy back.
Hold on you cloud shouters….
He’s got to be worth going in one day a week to do a bit of extra goalkeeping coaching.
The bloke spends his time now watching CCFC and he’s a legend and called the equaliser bang on.
Lampard had the opportunity of course.Maybe its time for change , its not a strange thing to request.

It’s goalkeeping. Not sure the fact that Oggy probably smokes a hundred a day and needs a zimmer (satire, Oggy) stops him passing on his wisdom about setting up a wall and where to stand for a corner.
Agreed but maybe was told at the time noLampard had the opportunity of course.
I’d agree if it were teaching Simms how to run channels. You cant be asking an old man to physically coach players ..its a nonsense suggestion mate sorry
I think we disagree here , and il have 2 biscuitsI’d agree if it were teaching Simms how to run channels.
It’s one day a week passing on some tips from the sidelines I was suggesting.
Plus, he’s 67.
Like, under the retirement age for the Uk now, I think.
Have a biscuit.
Who is in charge of the wall out of interest? Who positions/moves it?Rushworth not started great but player moved the ball for second goal and wall never moved.
I echo this statementsome judged Collins and Wilson on two games. The apologists on here sticking up for Rushworth who has been responsible for at least four goals this season is embarrassing
I find that hard to believe given the scale of the clearout that did happen. If Williams is as toxic as you say he is, why wouldn’t he be first out of the door? Plenty of other more senior coaches were disposed of very quickly.Agreed but maybe was told at the time no
