I was down in London today, for the Mizuno/FNUL 5km races in Battersea Park.
With a minimum entry requirement (for men) of 17:30, i was in the slowest race (there were three seeded "open races", and then the male and female elite races).
Ran 17:27 which i was very pleased with..... i wasn't expecting to be anywhere near my 17:19 pb, but i knew after 2km that i was on for something reasonable.
km splits were
3:20
3:28
3:29
3:38
3:32
Plan had been to run close to pb pace for 3km, then hang on for the final 2km, which is pretty much what i did..... just that poor 4th km dropped me off my pb.
A good confidence builder..... back there in April for another 5km on a faster course, so hopefully i can do some damage to my pb.
