The thing is ,it is just your opinion that the Hoffman's 2 bids were bad offers it is not a fact, it is a fact that that SISU rejected them, but that doesn't make them bad offers. A lot of football 'experts' would probably view our club as worthless. SISU could value the club at a billion doesn't mean anybody would pay it, at the moment only Hoffman seems to put any monetary value on the club.
SISU still face many ongoing problems, potentially a huge drop in income due to relegation, possibly a 50/60/70% drop in season ticket sales, and still no guarantee of a ground to play at, in 12 months time.

He wasn't bidding on the club as such though was he?

SISU know they only have to say "Let's talk" and we'll have another 2-4 years at the Ricoh. I don't think there will be any "No Ground" next year. SISU have to keep us playing with the "Golden Share" at stake, and whatever it is they are doing behind the scenes they seem to need our football club ticking over. Everyone has their own thoughts of what is going on, I know I do!

Theoretically yes, but the fact is that Wasps could say no thanks at any moment and leave the club in limbo. That is hardly a great selling point is it? It would be a bit like saying to a potential house purchaser that the rumored sewage plant that was going to be built next door will never happen but you have nothing in writing to prove that it won't :wideyed:

You said 'end of', but failed to mention higher bids and possible legal claims from the investors by SISU accepting a bid potentially millions lower than other bids. Seems a bit silly if you are aware of higher bids. The 1£ point is dead.

The legal claims would be against sisu then surely?

And to be honest i dont care as long as they eventually do one!

No your not getting it are you i dont give a shit as to why she would. It would be the decent thing to do so so any other offer is way way way over the odds.

There are assets to raise up to ten million ish.
She should pocket those and take the pound.

Don't say that you will upset some on here who believe she should have the assests and 10 million for all the good work she has done.

You don't get it. She has been offered more than a pound. She won't take a pound whether you want her to or not,

The value isn't zero. There's potential for quick growth next year. Even if Joy wanted out (of which there are no signs) she'd be worth rolling the dice for one more year to see how we do at a lower level and perhaps get a promotion bringing in more fans. Then she can sell next year on a high with a better product. That growth potential alone is worth something. Waiting a year to see how L2 shakes out while the club is self sustaining will cost her nothing and if we don't come back up Hoffman will still be there.

I just can't see any situation where she sells short of some maniac paying over the odds.

I can see the logic as we are pretty rock bottom and yes, a decent season on the pitch and maybe the crowds will come back and it would show more potential to any buyer (assuming we do well without any funding other than turnover). The only other problem would be where do we play long term?

If SISU and WASPs decide to be sensible and a decent rent/partner agreement is struck, then perhaps we would fetch a better price. Maybe thats what the plan is, get a proper fair deal in place then tell Hoff to up his bid? Or are they just hanging around, letting us tick over until the JR2 judge laughs them out of court.

Have suggested telling them to keep Ryton and sell it for houses to get the purchase price down. I don't think it would be a "massive" loss and could still rebuild.

Yes.
None of it would be a massive problem to overcome.
Plenty of partnerships could be forged in the local educational sector to provide adequate facilities to the level we're at.
The other ten millionish mentioned she may be entitled to is invalid in my view as that has been lost to appalling decisions over the ten years.
One article makes me wonder if she's staying in anyway.
The one where she's quoted as saying it's exciting to build something from "New".
If we become deconstructed to that point does she see us as a Burton /Fleetwood type project?

I wouldn't be bothered about losing Ryton if a decent replacement was in place. Lets face it Ryton is only a couple of pitches and the lodge.

Personally I'd go in with Warwick Uni. They have some decent facilities already and are expanding. We could share pitches and add a new lodge. Could also use the uni for the classroom requirements of the academy. Don't think it would take much to get everything on one site there.

Question about Warwick really has to be why hasn't it happened already?

It's been mooted for years with no progress.

I agree though, seems like the obvious option.

Are there any talks going on or is Hoffman guessing what Sisu will sell the club for and putting in bids ?

There was a big article from the head honcho there two or three years ago relating to a donation from a beneficiary promoting investment into their sporting infrastructure and tie ups with American educational institutions.
Did make me wonder at the time if this was related to Joy's friends (the Huntsmans) and Penn state Uni.

Is it the point, that it would harm SISUs compensation case (what ever that is) if they sold the club at a knock down price (i.e £1) , having 3000- 4000 thousand fans down from 20000- plus, only helps there argument if they can blame someone else for that (even though we all know is there actions that have heavily contributed to this) but if they could get any legal result in a court , then the compo figure could be anything, Don't know if this is the case but could be a reason why they are still here

I thought it had been said that they don't need to retain the club to pursue legal action.

I think OSB has said in the past that the JR won't result in any sort of compensation. It will just assess whether the sale was completed in a correct manner. If this did highlight issues with the sale then I would have thought it would be Coventry City who could then raise a claim for any compensation. Therefore whilst SISU could continue with the JR without owning the club I'm not sure what they would get out of it, other than a bit of one-upmanship. I suppose they could chase the council for any legal costs buy I don't know if they could also claim compensation as being previous owners.

I'm advised the deal includes leaving Ryton with Sisu and renting it back in the interim.
So it seems you may be right.

Sorry Italia mate - when you say "includes" do you mean an upcoming bid/deal, or did you mean "included" past tense, which is the bids we already know about? Just wondered if anything fresh was in the offerings.

Clearly it would be mainly add-ons, as per the 10m bid. And before people start, yes it's an unsubstantiated rumour and could be bollocks. Comes from a good mate who's mate was supposedly out with Hoffman the other night. Don't hang me if it turns out to be bollocks, as I don't have a record of coming on here to take the piss.

Add ons aren't really a bid are they? It's a percentage on unlikely future earnings.
