If that's correct then it has to be encouraging,

you would think that this is something that has to be given, otherwise he can make offer after offer and never come near their valuation. If you buy something, the starting point is surely knowing what the seller says they want. At least you can negotiate towards that figure.

L2 is not going to be easy, odds are not favorable for sides jumping straight back up and those who do will have a plan in place to reach the goal. The club has not come out and said promotion is a target they have sat quiet and when it has gone wrong blamed certain aspects of the club or fans. I dont see a target a goal or even a plan, FFS we are not sure where we will be playing after next season.

I will be amazed if we get in the top 3 of this league first time of asking and even more amazed if MR gets total backing to do so. They will expect him to perform miracle's and every now and then play with kids in what will be a difficult place for seasoned pro's. Doyle is a player i understand being brought in but his age at 36 is a worry even if his past of playing is good age catches up and with a struggling side motivation and desire may play its part. MR is the only stable figure at the club and while he is here the side have a chance to progress but sadly in the end the pattern comes round and players will be sold to fund to running of the club.

The start of the season is very important and could be an indication of how it will go in the long term, good start will breed confidence a bad start brings doubts and concerns that the players have already experienced last season. If the take over or bids and hearsay are still flying around this also plays a part in the club. As could Court cases, grounds and any other distraction Sisu tend to attract.

A mid table finish next season would be by far the lowest league position in the club's history. There is no way that I would see that as a success. Like you I think that only promotion can be considered a success.

or Seppala wasn't in the office (she is American with interests over there) and there was a weekend. I wouldn't read to much in to the length of time it only being a week

It's a leap of faith from someone who hasn't got one thing wrong so far when knowing whats going on behind the scenes. Believe me mate, I can't handle getting my hopes up either just to be kicked backed down again, but I trust him.

Listening to Hoffman on the radio when he spoke about the two failed bids, he certainly didn't give the impression that he was playing games. He came across very well and seemed to be very determined to carry on with a campaign that would eventually see Sisu sell. It did seem a genuine attempt, not one to simply court publicity. (I can't see why he would do that anyway, what would he get out of being in the news?). Sisu have alienated everyone they have dealt with apart from the Football League. I would think negotiating with them is an almost impossible task.

If a bid has gone in sat on a week and then rejected then that could mean a few different things. What is interesting to me if this is the case is Hoff has not came out and made it known that he is walking away. In fact the opposite everyone again been told to shut up and find solutions to the bid or find the common ground with SISU. I hope that this is the case and the bid is being considered again with them getting closer to resolution.

If it's been resting with them for a week it also contradicts the idea of leaks coming out

Agree it also points to Sisu being serious about dealing and not trying to undermine the buyer. Quiet is all good by me and gives me hope somethings is very much going on behind the scenes.

Exactly, that's why the 3rd bid being rejected isn't public, someone could of just put it out there to piss people off.

Where have I said a third bid is made up?

I did also put rumour in bold...

Rumour is exactly what it says on the tin, which is different from spouting other stuff which my point was about.

What if, in a SBT work of fiction, sisu have also been contacted by our Aussie friends. That in itself would be enough for them to drag their feet a while longer.
They have been reported to be doing feasibility studies on certain clubs , so maybe sisu will wait for them to make a decision on which club they would like to acquire ( in case they have a brain freeze and bid for us).

How is it a wind up to point out why you can see it will be rejected and why it wasn't a good offer?

You need to come at it from a realistic point of view rather than "SISU don't deserve anything so should get what they are given". That won't make them go.

I'm not basing anything on what an expert said, I am basing it on what he was actually bidding for and why it was different to the £1 stuff.

Nobody is being attacked for having an opinion. They are having facts pointed out to them that shows why some things they say are incorrect. You can't just say things and then give it the "yeah but it's my opinion" line all of the time.

Probably not, as they would have to explain that to Arvo investors who have a charge on everything. More likely end up as a fraud case - especially as higher bids have already been made.

I would think Hoffman and any other interested party will wait until this court hearing in July before putting in any further bid. As for the Aussies still have an inclin they and Hoffman may not be unlinked.

Yes, we would all love them to leave for £1 and hand the club over debt free and a great fresh start to build on.

How realistic is it?

You said 'end of', but failed to mention higher bids and possible legal claims from the investors by SISU accepting a bid potentially millions lower than other bids. Seems a bit silly if you are aware of higher bids. The 1£ point is dead.

Not very but after all the bad things they have done it would be nice to think they left us to the best deal for the club not the highest one .I do agree not realistic but I live in hope.

Indeed.

Think *we* all agree that ultimately, £1 is overpaying for the club as it stands really!

But that is totally irrelevant, at the end of the day...

As ever, the fear is would you *really* want somebody in charge who was stupid enough to meet Seppala's valuation for the club...?

The value isn't zero. There's potential for quick growth next year. Even if Joy wanted out (of which there are no signs) she'd be worth rolling the dice for one more year to see how we do at a lower level and perhaps get a promotion bringing in more fans. Then she can sell next year on a high with a better product. That growth potential alone is worth something. Waiting a year to see how L2 shakes out while the club is self sustaining will cost her nothing and if we don't come back up Hoffman will still be there.

I just can't see any situation where she sells short of some maniac paying over the odds.

I've kind of asked the same question on another thread. However, if JR2 validity is being decided in July does that mean SISU will look to hold out until they know the outcome?

July hearing is to see if a judge thinks there is a case to be heard before a full court hearing later in year or even early next year I think

Cheers OSB, yeah I thought that was the case. I just wondered if SISU have invested in getting the hearing set for July whether they are going to be remotely interested in leaving before this has been heard. Then fingers crossed it gets dismissed, they have a choice to possibly discuss any realistic offers or begin the process of appeal.

Could investors be throwing offers at SISU now to try and persuade them to move on should the JR decision not go SISUs way?

The thing is ,it is just your opinion that the Hoffman's 2 bids were bad offers it is not a fact, it is a fact that that SISU rejected them, but that doesn't make them bad offers. A lot of football 'experts' would probably view our club as worthless. SISU could value the club at a billion doesn't mean anybody would pay it, at the moment only Hoffman seems to put any monetary value on the club.
SISU still face many ongoing problems, potentially a huge drop in income due to relegation, possibly a 50/60/70% drop in season ticket sales, and still no guarantee of a ground to play at, in 12 months time.

I don't think any potential bids will have any court wranglings in mind. After all SISU may drop their litigation process if they accept someones bid. Of course they could still pursue after selling.
Perhaps that is a stumbling block of any bid? So many ways of looking at this and structuring something acceptable to Joy. But as Shmmeee says why sell right now unless at your advantage for you to do so?

But isn't it going to get harder and harder to sell the club for any money the nearer it gets to homelessness?
