They must be gutted. All that bollocks about city of rugby and trying to brand the Ricoh the home of rugby and they get 1 out of 64 matches!

This is good for the City and the Bears. Can't see what the issue is. We're getting another major sporting event. What's not to like?

It is good news for the Rugby League fans.

Still don't get the people who jump on the bandwagon who have no interest in the sport and won't after. Same as the people who suddenly become Red Hot Chilli Pepper fanatics for a week before and after they played here.

It'll be great as long as Wasps don't own the ground by then

(tbf I agree a world cup game is great. Rugby League is something I'm ambivalent over however. It seems to have abandoned its roots completely the past decade and a half, the world cup has been expanded too much, so there are some horrendous disinterested mismatches, and we have a team from Toronto playing in the league. Used to love watching Hull of all teams (AKA Gateshead Thunder )

But I guess overall I'l have to grudgingly cheer its arrival

It’s not the event it’s the location we should not be supporting any events that are held at the arena apart from our football teams games.

Some people would support a terrorist cell if it was at the Ricoh.

"good for the city mate, bit of exposure. Best get down and show my support"

Grown men turning into lifelong spice girls fans the minute they are playing there.

I feel differently. I wouldn't want to watch Wasps but if for example one of my favourite bands turned up I'd be there in a heart beat (it's a real possibility in June). The FA are currently looking at where they can host England games. Would it be a bad thing if they chose the Ricoh?

Yes anything that helps them keep or make it profitable is a bad thing for the football club.

Fair enough. That should be extended to all of the companies that sponsor them too in that case.

Its like anything though, if you're not moving forwards you're going backwards. They need to try and grow the sport and I think League, in particular in the UK are one of the more effective at doing so. From doing things such as ref cam to the Magic weekend and the World Club Challenge and the introduction of Catalan. They're not going to get every decision right, nobody does, but at least theyre trying.

As opposed to Union where they are rumoured to be thinking about cancelling relegation, domestic club rugby is on its arse, I can't name another sport in the world where there is such a disparity of interest between the international and club games.

You can add to that all those who are apoplectic about franchise-style MK Dons & Wasps & who at the same time ejaculate over SuperBowl & go to Wembley to watch NFL games

In the grand scheme imo that is a bit like speaking out on here about child labour in 3rd world sweat shops before going to M&S or GAP or whoever to buy a new shirt.

That is exactly the point. I reckon when it comes down to it, VERY few of us stick to what we perceive are our deeply held principles when we are struck by such a whim

There's expanding horizons and temporary bandwagon interest.

You probably wouldn't understand that though seeing as a free ticket turned you into a propaganda generator.

Exactly the target market.

Yeah but if I was to say I am an event put on by Wasps you would be trying to bounce up and down on me. That's the worrying part.

You reinforce mine every time you post where they are involved and the city matches that go by without any sort of acknowledgement or input from you.

"Going to discuss a city match on a city forum?"
"Nah mate, I am going to wait until somebody says they won't go to a Rugby Match and then I am all over it".

Oh here we go...just say it Nick "You're not a proper fan" coz that is what I am perceiving you want to say.
What you seem to be saying about me regarding Wasps (all because I had a positive experience, & felt compelled to say so given all the stuff thrown their way on here, on my ONE free-ticket visit) is that I am a Wasps sympathiser/supporter. Well you can think what you want tbh - I bet if you were offered a free ticket to watch City play a franchise team away you'd gladly accept, enjoy & be grateful for it.
My thoughts on Wasps owning the Ricoh are simple & well documented...I even thought it might become a positive for City (doubting that now).
As for talking about subjects off-topic (i.e. non CCFC) there are hosts of them so not sure what you are getting at there & nor do I care.

I'm saying that your posts on here indicate you have more interest in defending wasps than anything to do with ccfc. That's not up for dispute as anybody can click your profile to see for themselves.

You have no idea what I refer to when I mention things to do with ccfc.

If somebody gave me free tickets to go and watch us play mk Dons, I wouldn't sign up on the AFC Wimbledon site to tell them how great it was.

I was a bit surprised by BBC CWR having a complete wank-fest over Cov being a "host city" of RLWC2021. It's one fucking match of what is (around here at any rate) a minority sport. They were talking like it was the FIFA world cup final!

Wasps could host the tiddywinks regional championships and people would be all over it.

"its great news for the city"
"we are winning just everything at the moment, wow"

It's all the fake PR, coffee shop, have a meeting about a meeting, business networking, social influencer, life coach type bellends.
