That wouldn't fit though would it, it's a song about someone that is pissing about and needs to sort out their life. Not exactly what you'd want to be associated with!If anyone is going down that route, I'd just stick with the original lyrics. Most people already know them and therefore easier to get it going, as it's quite a tricky tune/timing for the terraces to adopt.
Not quite sure how I’ve managed to miss this for the last 9 months until now.I know it can be hard to shift once someone has a song, but surely we’re failing if his isn’t to the tune of A Message to You, Rudy:
Coupla million pounds (aah-aah-ah)
City’s 5 for the future (aah-aah-ah)
Rudoni’s messing about (aah-aah-ah)
Creating goals all around….
(aah-aah-ah)
Rudi!
The City loves you Rudi!

I think you're overthinking it a bit. He said the song was played to him as a kid and he likes it, the band are from Cov. I doubt it will happen anyway, but simple is always best. That wouldn't fit though would it, it's a song about someone that is pissing about and needs to sort out their life. I don't think there is a way to make it work well
Nah it's weird to sing a song that's calling some out for wasting their life. If people can remember that bloody Tats song they can remember a few word changesI think you're overthinking it a bit. Ben Sheaf might have been here and there, but he certainly wasn’t every fucking where. That wouldn't fit though would it, it's a song about someone that is pissing about and needs to sort out their life. Not exactly what you'd want to be associated with!

Our 'theme' song is about a depressing place filled with wastrels with no prospects or hope for the future. Not exactly the positive vibe we're looking for is it.I get the points people have made but it's a bit different singing something positive that isn't true over singing you are a waster that needs to sort your life out!
I mean even having an imaginary massive head is a net positive for a defender.

More surface area to connect with the ballIs having a fucking massive head a positive then?
That's not how I read that. I feel like it's about Having hope and something to enjoy despite maybe not the most glamorous surroundings, staying positive. Our 'theme' song is about a depressing place filled with wastrels with no prospects or hope for the future. Rudy is different. Pointless either way as new chants off here never take off.
The standard of chants has tanked for me, would be nice to have something original rather than recycled from an old player or another team but even the ones we've borrowed are not as catchy as a few seasons back.
Interesting.
Personally I see Live and Die In These Towns as a statement saying you can have hope but the reality is you'll almost certainly die living the same existence you are now. Clinging on because all you've got left is hope, but chances are it's not going to actually get any better.
Sorry if that's depressed people!
But then the entire chorus negates that by clearly stating numerous times "We'll Live and Die In These Towns".I get that but the line that changes it for me is:
"It never happens for people like us, you know. Well, nothing ever happened on it's own"
For me it's your life might feel like shit, you might live in a craphole but that's your life and there isn't any point in wallowing. Make the most of what you have. Things can get better but the won't if you let it get on top of you.
I mean it's pretty apt for Covs last decade +

Could be the anthem for some of the energy vampires on this forumIve always read it in a similar way to Arctic Monkeys Perhaps Vampires Is A Bit Strong But…
I meant more make better of your situation. You might live and die in these towns but you can't let that beat you down, there are still nuggets of joy to be had.But then the entire chorus negates that by clearly stating numerous times "We'll Live and Die In These Towns".
In doesn't say "We'll Live In These Towns But Die In A Nice Village Because Things Will Get Better"
So it's basically a very dark version of Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.I meant more make better of your situation. You might live and die in these towns but you can't let that beat you down, there are still nuggets of joy to be had.
