Rotherham have the worst home record in the division , yet here you've predicted that they will be like Chelsea 04/05 at Stamford Bridge

Interesting read on a Huddersfield forum about today's Rotherham game. Unanimous view that Rotherham should have won comfortably and they were very lucky not to have lost.

Missed an open goal, clear pen denied and hit the post twice. Huddersfield and Derby still very much in the mix.

Just watched it on Quest, Rotherham were unlucky.

Missing open goals and hitting the woodwork don't win you games. We have hit the woodwork more than any other team in the division, and are famous for missing chances. I don't think you can attribute that to bad luck. Rotherham are probably in this position purely because they have lost or drawn games they could have won.

Really hope QPR turn up on Tuesday, that Rotherham pick up some knocks and that we turn up on Thursday. Nervous week!

Not confident they will absolutely nothing to play for now, any thoughts of a play-off spot gone safe as houses from relegation, were hovering around the relegation area in January but their dabble/gamble getting Charlie Austin in to help their cause paid off, five goals, five assists, oh and he’s suspended Tuesday.

I don't get his. You are the second poster to go for this nothing to play for notion. QPR were on 53 points this morning, before the Sheff Weds game. Already safe.

They won 4-1 with nothing to play for.

Charlie Austin didn't play.

I think the point your missing Otis, as pointed out on another thread, is that you are not accounting for results that typically happen at this time of season, where form gets turned upside down. Just because QPR were good at home to Sheff Wed does not follow they will be so good in their next away game, just as they showed at Forest after stuffing us a few days earlier. I hope your confidence in QPR performing turns out to be well justified, but at this point in time I would we quite happy with the game on Tuesday being a draw.

No, I understand that point, but that didn't seem to be the point that was being made. One poster was saying QPR will be on the beach and Magwich was saying they have nothing to play for

Well, that was the same yesterday. They had nothing to play for yesterday and yet they still won 4-1 and this was also against a team fighting for survival.

So"on the beach" seems to be nonsense and having nothing to play for didn't in any way effect them yesterday.

Easter always throws up some odd results, i.e. Sheff Weds winning 5 nil, but then losing 4-1.

I am not saying they will definitely win on Tuesday, but they are a good team and their away form over the last 8 games is W4, D2, L2. Rotherham haven't scored a goal for 3 games and their home form is terrible.

Rotherham could win of course, but QPR are in good form.

A draw would be lovely and a defeat for Rotherham, perfect.

If you look at my opening predictions post, note that I have put us down to lose at Rotherham yet still finish higher, even though I predict us to only win one of our remaining fixtures. The predictions show just how hard it will be for Rotherham to finish higher than us despite winning two and drawing two of their next four home games.

I agree.

They pretty much have a mountain to climb.

Games in hand are fine, but points are king.

Tbf, even if they lose to QPR, beat us and they are 3 behind with 2 in hand and a much better goal difference. It's tight as fuck, if we lose I'll be absolutely shitting it.

I am normally optimistic and a glass half full merchant but there’s something niggling in the back of my head about our position which is definitely self inflected. On paper we have most of our best players back but still concede early goals, still very loose defensively and goalkeepers, plural, not safe hands and that transmits through the team. One positive is we have three home games and our home form is decent, we need two wins from them. Still fingers crossed.

Look at my predictions again. In the short term this forum will go into meltdown when I predict Rotherham will get 8 points from their next 4 home games. BUT, the final positions will be based on all remaining fixtures where I predict we will finish with two more points than Rotherham despite only winning just one game.

It works for us as well, of our 6 remaining games we have Stoke, Millwall, and Preston who will have nothing to play for and possibly Huddersfield by the time we play them. Does anyone think we will win all 3 (or 4) of them?

No chance.

Teams can play with a bit of freedom when they are on that position.

No chance think we will get an away win somewhere before the end of the season. so 2wins an a draw will do us I reckon.

There is of course a lot of truth in that, because good teams are good enough to go on and win games anyway, so any ill luck is not an issue.

Yup.
You could say we have been unlucky to have hit the woodwork so many times, but you have to wonder if a better quality of striker would have taken those chances.

Can’t see Rotherham beating Birmingham if Birmingham keep their form. Other than that its a fair shout.
