Considering how well Doug has done in stopping the leaks over the last couple of windows. I expect this to be done in the next couple of days or we've already moved on.

Seems the most likely rumour of them all so far to come true. Lack of first team football for him so far, knows and has worked with Joe Edwards, fits the profile in terms of position and quality needed.

He has but the media team have been set a 5,000 word target for the press release. It’ll be an Esse Essay.

Didn’t Esse establish himself at Millwall under Joe Edwards?

He certainly scored the opening goal at the CBS for Millwall when Edwards was in charge (we went on to win). Feb 2024 iirc.

I'd hope there's a couple of legs involved if we're signing him!

Looks fun. Always suspicious when a highlight reel never shows the end product but he’s a kid and we desperately need wingers so I’ll take him. Hopefully a level he knows and staff he trusts will get the best out of him.

I see Bristol City will pocket £11 million quid from the £65 million fee when Semanyo leaves for Man City.

Let's make him feel welcome, lads, please. He needs a confidence boost to get him back on track. He'll excel under the right sort of coach. Trust me.

I'd say if Esse isn't done early next week it's not happening.
How long does it take to sign a loan player? Surely it's not as complicated as a permanent deal?

Loan player singings can easily be as complicated as a permanent. Negotiations between the clubs over the terms of the deal and obviously % contribution of salary … then negotiations between the player and agent particularly around bonus’ based on playing time etc & in some cases with younger players, they won’t just want their salary matched, they ask for more on top.
It’s why many fall through even when it is offering a player playing time.

Its the only position we have literally zero cover for in the squad and the highest energy position.

Lack of ability to rest players all over the pitch has been the issue.

Definitely need help, 3 or 4 in and wide midfield is a must, we need more attacking options and to have the ability to rotate the squad.

Exactly. You can play without wingers.
