Not enough goals or threat in the side. Especially with the 3-5-2 and 3 central midfielders who couldnt tell you what a goal is let alone score one.

I think we've won just once away from home in the league since Feb.

Basically we need someone to start scoring other than Reda.

Another disappointing result, in general our away form under Pressley has been dreadful over the last 18 months. Going to be big pressure on home fixtures this season if we are to make the play offs, probably need 4 points from Preston and Crawley at the Ricoh to keep us close to the play offs, 6 would be useful.

Honestly can't see us picking up lots of points away from home this season.

Agreed, makes getting rid of Baker, a goal getting midfielder who can play centrally, a very strange one!

Our strikers have looked uninspiring...

It is but you can still make the play offs with a poor away record, it just means our home record has to be one of the best in the league.

We really did not look threatening today. Didn't look like scoring apart from Tudgays chance. It seems we like to pass pass pass but a lot of these are sideways or backwards. We've got pace in Jackson yet didn't thread him through at all.

We lost our only width by taking Haynes out, Pugh and Clarke don't suit the wing back positions.

You can play full backs as wing backs if you have a central midfielder or two that cause a threat. Our central midfield offers nothing. Thomas, Fleck and O'Brien won't score 3 goals between them all season. Last season that was OK because we had wingers joining in and scoring. He needs to go and sign a goalscoring midfielder or go back to 4-4-2. I fear the 3-5-2 will be here until Christmas and we will be about 18th in the league by this time.

Sounds like we didn't put in an quality crosses in all game according to reports. That is something Haynes brings to the side.

Pugh is a decent crosser when he gets a chance but doesn't get into crossing positions more than once a game.

This is true. Don't recall any decent cross that made us 'ooooh'! And there was atleast one good opportunity where Pugh was on the edge of the box and looked lost and no idea what to do with the ball! If he plays, I think he has to play on a flat back 4

Think Finch deserves a mention. Thought he did well when e came on, and offered us that bit more than Thomas did (not saying that just so I can have a dig at Thomas). Maybe his best position is just sat in front of the back line?

What a load of gut less shit we are. That was as bad as I've seen this season. I wouldn't pay them in washers .

Pugh definitely needs a winger ahead of him

Yes, and it's currently of the same length as our winning run that preceded it that I'm sure you were as enthused about.

Looked leggy first half, second half put them under pressure but final pass let us down according to Pressley. Kept referencing playing on Tuesday with 10 men.

Jack Finch is a special player from Pressley, he's got everything.

Bitterly disappointed with last two results, performances deserved more.

Thought today was very poor, more so than the stats will show. Rochdale although uninspiring did the basics well. Won the ball and played it long in the first half. They had a midget in the middle of the park who just broke up play, ran, turned inside and give it wide. When we won possession at the back we tried to play it simple in tight spaces and often gave the ball away. They had less players in those situations and played it simple back to the keeper who cleared, something we seem very reluctant to do. Once again we offer up possession and chances far too easy. Swanson was very poor when he came on, could not play a simple pass but Hines I thought looked very good, easily MOM. And the ref was as poor as I've seen in a very long time.

We need proper wing backs if we are going to persist with 532, the only full back who is suited for wing back is Haynes.

He struggles defensively

It's really difficult. Even with Jackson and nouble I can't see them being as prolific as Clarke and Wilson. Last season we were conceding pretty 1.8 goals per game even with Clarke and Wilson meaning (law of averages) you have to score 2 just to get a point. That was ok when we had 2 prolific strikers.

If we go to a 442, then I don't think our back 4 is any stronger than last season, and we'd go back to a defensively weak central midfield partnership (fleck and Thomas), you'd assume then coubily and one of o'brien/Swanson on either wing. I can't see it working.

That's why you have 3 centre backs.

Totally agreed. Don't understand what people are asking for: we done have a strong DM and our CBs aren't good enough in a two. Add in that our full backs aren't great defensively and that arguably we've only got one real winger.

We needed to be more defensively sound this season with no prolific front two and I dont see any better system with our squad.
