Interesting but cant disagree. At the end of the day though its all about putting the ball in the net

Match thread

Donal for Calvin.Should be beating Coventry poor team

Coventry are there for the taking

Game should have been put to bed in the first ten minutes. As it is, we've let one of the poorest sides we've played in years the advantage. Game still there to be won.

For all our possession ( it sounds like 80/20 on the radio ) - we sound toothless and lacking pace. Sounds all too easy and slow. Hardly and shots other than a couple of free kicks. Need to liven it up by the sound of it. Come on Dale!

Should be beating Coventry poor team

Match thread on 16:55 - Oct 22 by Yorkshire_Dale

Donkey Dale.......concede 5 in a week.
Pathetic performance against a terrible side.

That was frustrating. It reminded me of early in the season when we were dominating matches but losing because of our toothlessness. The same again today. Coventry were awful, I haven't seen a less ambitious side since Crawley at home a few years ago - in the second half today I think the ball only came into our half three times.

For all our possession though we didn't test their keeper anywhere near as much as we should have. Henderson missed quite a few good chances and he surely needs to be dropped soon. McDermott continued his terrible season - he can glide past a player so easily but his final ball is up there with some of the worst I've ever seen from a Dale forward. Canavan made a mistake for the first goal.

I can disagree whole heartedly. Fans see us at the bottom of the league and automatically dismiss us as awful and an easy 3 points.
Tell me again, how many other teams in the league are unbeaten at home this season.
And coming from fans whose team today had nothing but long ball after long ball after long ball!!!! Didn't realise they took their tactics from Aidy Boothroyd

They were like watching Dave Bassetts Wimbledon side in the 80's. Team of cloggers and hoofball merchants. Bollocks to them.

Terrible reporting from someone not even at the game by the sounds of it. I thought they were a physical side who lumped the ball forward as much as possible. They had a couple of half decent players in the middle of the park but nothing special. The number 9 looked a handful but average at best! On the whole I think for the majority of the game we made them look better than they were by trying to over play, Bigi and Reid being the main culprits although I think they had good games.

I chuckled at the call for the Rochdale Coach Driver to return to his coach.

Only needed one of 'em...

They were the better side.
Who used their physicality to get the beating of us on many occasions if they fancied heading the ball into the big goal instead of over or wide of they'd have got double figures today.

All about sticking it in the net and once we created only a couple of chances but put them away!

If I was them I'd be fuming its 3 points dropped today with only themselves to blame!

It is usually us that can't take their chances though! So it is a nice feeling.

To his taxi wasn't it!?

You'd need 50 people to fill a coach!

alway disliked Keith Hill, the bloke only knows one way to play, long ball and tackle with or without the ball.

just done the predictor league for fun and being hard on us, at 23 games I get us in 7th.

I can't he looks too much like 'Young Kenny' (Justin Moorhouse) from Phoenix nights to dislike him!

Their two centre halves were poor and played miles apart from each other.

It's a lesson in reverse. Retaining possession and tapping passed round misfiled mean nothing if you are toothless.

When we scored the first, that diagonal ball we were playing that got the ball to Lamirieas seemed to work.

To be fair, I thought they played some someone excellent passing football at times, they just had the ability to go long and mix it up a bit. I wouldn't mind having Calvin Andrew in our squad.

At this moment in time I couldn't care less about performance, we need wins. 2 wins this week regardless of whether we deserve it or not. If we can get up to mid table or at the very least, out of bottom 4, then we can work on playing well.

He was of the same mould as the Wimbledon strikers. A good option to have in the squad, was weird they took him off.

They were rubbish, we should be beating this lot etc. etc.
So if it's our turn good!

Tuesday ran through Oxford
Today smash and grab an in form rochdale

Listened on the radio, didn't sound as people are saying that went, praise must go to all our players alike to upset the apple cart and get a win, when have we done that recently?

Last season we outplayed loads of teams only to get tanked, sounds like we have a plan b, Tuesday bossed it, today nicked it.

I think we looked comfortable throughout. Even though they had the ball they weren't troubling us.

They were on top for fifteen minutes at the start of the game when they came out to bully us but our team of waifs and kids stood up to them admirably after that

He is, not saying hes a world beater but he or someone of his ilk would be a useful squad player. Looked far better than Darius Henderson last season.

We've found 2 ways to win this week which is pleasing. Better team Tuesday and won yet today was up against it and won. Good signs, credit where it's due.

They did at first, but for some strange reason resorted to the long ball game reasonably soon into the game and stopped playing the ball about.

First twenty minutes their passing and movement was excellent.

Whether Hill thought they had the aerial game won and therefore went down the longer ball route as the game wore on, who knows.

I was worried at first about the long ball as Willis got caught underneath the high ball twice early on but all credit to him he came back and had a very good game
