Robins said pretty soon after departing Coventry that he wanted to get back into football quickly. Personally if I were him I would take WBA rather than Stoke out of the two.

Stoke has been a basket case for years, big spends with no end product and never really giving managers time.

Personally think maybe a more local job at say Peterborough or Notts County might suit him to progress from a lower base.

There would be zero incentive to take a lower-paying job whatsoever.

Would you choose Robins who was a great success at his last club or a manager that got the sack a few times while his team was coming up through the divisions with more visits to Wembley than the rest of their history combined?

I think having spent so long with us, Robins will be very much out of practice with navigating the job market, especially at Championship level. I think he will be surprised at how expectations and ways of working have changed.

West Brom I can see him being on the shortlist but not offered the job. Stoke I think he would more likely be offered it but he'd likely find himself sacked within a year with those owners.

Seems a very obvious fit to me but it will be fascinating to see who he would take with him. Maybe Chris Ramsey who it would appear was very close to being offered the Asst role with us?

I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a DOF role. the game is changing and he's getting on and his experience here has been far beyond that of manager recently !
You know I kind of half expected him to bring in that Rosenior chap through to possibly succeed him and move upstairs here, but there we are !

No chance if it is the sort of role that includes business deals and finance

Looks like I’m in the minority but I think Stoke may suit him better than West Brom. The latter I would suggest is play offs this season as a remit. Whereas I can barely remember Stoke being above mid table since they came down. I suspect a top half finish there would be seen as success and he’d get time to build something. Also, Stoke seem to have more to spend.

I think he is ideal for Stoke. They need a steadying hand good at a long term project that makes good use of the funding they have. But also needs to kiss and make up with Ade Viveash as long as Ade agrees not to recommend all those ex-Chelsea duds

Robins has only been very good with us a bit like Nathan Jones at Luton but not very good elsewhere.
