Coleman had no influence. He's not really been involved for years.

Well he has left l believe. Whether that changes things who knows, probably won’t. I’ve never heard or read anything from him

Thought it was 45 million with a promise to invest 30 million to the wolves fan who owned the club previously? Might be wrong.

At the end of the day the club is worth whatever the owner values it at

I think you’re right on the amounts but wasn’t the previous owner the same guy who owns Red Row homes and if famously a Liverpool fan?

You may well be right I don't know the ins and outs of the deal but if the figures being banded around regarding what sisu want for city are anywhere near true then you would say they are asking far too much.
But like you say, it's worth what someone's prepared to pay.

How much is being said? (I haven't seen anything) from the outside I would say £20 million is around the top someone should pay...

Think it's confusing and conflating Jack Hayward passing on to Morgan, and Morgan selling on.

It's probably not possible due to NDA agreement or something but I would really love it if the club or SISU said exactly what this extra clause Wasps want the club to be signed up to. We have heard it's not viable etc and is not fair what they are asking but would be great to know the actual detail of what Wasps are demanding.

Seems Boddy told people on Friday its coverage any losses / fine handed out to Wasps or the council. Now he's said that Gilbert and his chums should be asking questions of Wasps around why they need this if they are certain there is no wrongdoing and why the club should pay in Wasps or the council are found to be in the wrong.

Sure he's working on it :banghead:

I have heard that figure banded about more than once as the asking figure.
There were also rumours that the consortium offered 7m with add ons though I heard the initial figure was much lower.

I must stress, that when I say I heard, I'm on about pub talk so I have no idea if what I heard is accurate and in all likelihood it isn't!

Simon Jordan said a couple of years back that SISU were asking for 'crazy' money
Maybe Les Reid or one of the Talk sport reporters can ask him the figure he was quoted

It's impossible to value ccfc correctly at this moment due to the unique circumstances involved, for example,
1, if sisu win the EU ruling they will sue for damages and wasps will have to pay millions which could well bankrupt them and therefore the ricoh could well be up for sale.
2, if the EU ruling goes against sisu, then sisu could themselves try to invest in wasps and force a hostile takeover, which would be far cheaper than building a new stadium.
3, regardless of the EU outcome, promotion to the championship would certainly improve the financial standing of CCFC and give sisu more options

So either way you cant see sisu leaving town any time soon, and I don't see a ricoh return during the coming season.
Just my humble opinion of course.

Not sure I agree. We have no off the field assets and won’t have, even if sisu win the case. Ccfc is worth the value of the players, that’s about it

Also Ryton if people want to buy that when bidding.

Don't we have about the same assets as we did about 10 years ago?

I’m with Irish Sky Blue on this Hoffman issue. I don’t know the bloke never spoke to him and apart from Overson and Elliott haven’t a clue who any of this consortium are. But it gets me whenever Hoffman’s name is brought up on here ref. takeovers or bids etc the bile from some on here is quite frankly startling. Why ??
Because he was part of the disastrous early years of the SISU reign, the time which is now being pushed as when SISU had maximum opportunity to buy ACL.

I'd rather a clean break from all actors currently or previously involved.

previously i would of loved Hoffman and his secret team to have taken over however, finding out little snippets i have completely changed my mind, he was quite happy to have the hero tag sitting with the fans but when you think about how he has gone around things its sneaky. think he has lost alot of support with the Wasp thing.

at this current time he is no different to Jo Dhinsa, full of hopes and dreams which just gets the fans excited and full of crap

I thought I'd made it quite clear that points 1 and 2 could ultimately end up with sisu taking over the ricoh arena (admittedly a long shot at the moment) but uniting the arena and the football club under one owner changes the whole financial situation for sisu, and hence its valuation.
Why would sisu entertain offers for ccfc while other options remain open?

Couldn’t disagree more. Hoffman genuinely cares about the Club. If we can’t have some super rich billionaire then what we need is an owner who wants the best for his club, not a chancer who’s in it to turn a buck.

Even things like that deal he offered to pay the rent at the Ricoh while retaining 50% of the ticket sales made me sceptical. Then the way he keeps lining himself up with takeovers - SISU originally, then Haskell and more recently his own version leaves me with a feeling of opportunism, rather than acting on behalf of the best interests of the club. And all the time arm in arm with Joe Elliot who has been a constant throughout the mismanagement of various regimes. Throw in associations with clowns like Richard Keys and Dale Evans too. It's tin pot at best, devious and untrustworthy at worst and I'm glad some of the recent leaks are spreading the scepticism.

You’ve also got that offer he made for the club where SISU would retain all the profits from player sales until 2021 or something. It’s like he’s that desperate to be involved he becomes irrational, and that is not a good trait in a football club owner.

So you back a man known for his involvement with previous ownerships and the early SISU days, allying himself to the likes of Dale Evans and Joe Elliott, and someone with his head so far up the councils backside its impossible to remove him. I would prefer to keep SISU than allow him and his bunch of his chancers with zero pots to piss in anywhere near ownership of our club.

What about the offer he made for the club using the "Keep Cov in Cov" group as a front?

The offer to purchase the club was a symbolic £51,987.35 - £50,000 as a financial incentive, £1,987 as a nod to the club’s FA Cup success and 35p to symbolise the number of miles from Coventry to Northampton.

I don't, and I worry what will happen if Robins starts to think he's had the wool pulled over his eyes.
But I also worry that if Hoffman and co take over they will commit the club to a long term deal which is only beneficial to wasps and while securing the club's future in Coventry offers little else.

That’s my worry, I was all for Hoffman’s consortium gaining control.
But if W**** are involved, I am concerned in his desperation to be involved he will concede to much to W**** ,and they will use us to prop them up.

Wasn't that obvious the last time he was reeled out during negotiations though?

He was even pictured talking to Wasps FFS

No Hoffman fan, but I’m not sure having good relations with your landlord is a stick to beat someone with.

Plenty of other sticks to beat him with *cough* Dale Evans *cough*

Guess it depends if the landlord is refusing to do a deal and they are involved with his bid?

There's a big difference between having a decent relationship with your landlord and putting up with anything they throw at you. It appears Wasps and the council are keen on Hoffman for the same reason they made SISU their preferred option many years ago.

Someone who will pay whatever rent they ask and isn't concerned about owning the stadium. A nice compliant tenant they can take advantage of.

They aren't really secret conspiracies though are they?

It's been confirmed by somebody in the consortium that Wasps were involved in the takeover attempt and were going to put money in. It's a bit more than a potential landlord / potential tenant relationship.

I certainly wouldn't go that far. I would think it's safe to say that, the way things have gone, the city council are now tied in to ensuring both the Ricoh and Wasps projects succeed. If they fail, that would be very... uncomfortable for them as an organisation, politically.

As an aside, I often wonder about the council pushing SISU onto the club. My understanding of the process, from the time (i.e. not coloured by recollection) is the SISU offer was considered 'derisory' by CCC as much as any other (the quote is Ken Taylor's). By this stage, control of the process for selling the club had moved to the Co-op bank as the creditor who wanted most cash back, and fastest. They were very keen on SISU as they offered to settle in the bank's favour, so it was the Co-op bank that drove SISU as preferred bidder.
