Robin’s Take On The Game (18 Viewers)

Theres clearly a lot of resentment from Mark after a really disappointing end to his fantastic time here.

Because he's seeing someone do the job he should have done with a £40m+ squad to be honest.

If he gets Stoke into the Play Offs, it would be as good of an achievement as when he got us there. They've been outside the PL for 8 years and haven't come close once.

More that he'll feel that after all the success he gave us, he should have been given leeway and the time to turn it round last season. That will rankle, and I'm sympathetic to that. It wouldn't be human not to be pissed off in his position.

It appears to have been absolutely the right decision from our point of view, but that won't give him any comfort.

I do like Mark but he must've been watching a different match. We were the better side and deserved a draw at least! Thought their threats were mostly dealt with by us all game.

It was a stalemate. If I was a stoke fan then I would be annoyed at losing. I think a draw was probably the right result but delighted we won.
They had a great chance first half and a decent half chance when Kitching got a good block in. Then we had the potential half chance Wright could have played into EMC but blasted over, EMCs shot that the keeper spilled and BTA couldn't get to.

Then obvs the goal

“ Coventry play for corners , free kicks & throw ins “
Well Mark , our overall play was also far superior than your negative play & as the home team , you bottled it !

Tbf what I saw was fair. He said stoke had arguably best chance of game but wouldn't agree with journalist that stoke deserved to win the game

The guys a fucking legend and that will never change. Stop being so precious

Stokes performance was classic Robins, failed to change the gamelan towards the end with the tip tappy possession with no threat late on. As much as I admired him and respected him, he had limitations to see how to change to a situation

Total bullsh1t.

We were great for each other.

He was the author of his own exit.

Show class. Be pleased for your old club and all those associated with it and don try and belittle what they are doing without you.

Yeah maybe if you want that do t fire someone then go on the radio slandering them tbf.

To be honest if we were Stoke fans playing the top of the table would we be that annoyed at his comments?
Stoke are punching way above where they should be in a very skewed league , they will fall away and finish 10-14th but that will be successful season for them
Crikey I remember many a game that we set up like Stoke today before the King days and managed to get a result

Don't know what I saw from who but it wasn't as described on here,so either truncated or a different channel but he was fairly complimentary, something like when you consider where we are sort of thing.

How about “ Coventry are top for a reason. They are a very good side with some very good players. For long periods I thought we matched them and if anything had the best chance of the match but that’s football and we will recharge over the international break and look to kick on again.”

You don’t have to criticise your own team to give credit to the opposition.

We have never had so much praise as we are having at the moment from the football community. It would not have looked at all odd if Mark had been another of those voices.

For those of you that can’t bare the idea that Mark might be a little bit in the wrong can I suggest you remind yourself of his usual post match comments when he was our manager …

We would hear most matches “ these are a top top side by the way “ “ xxx had done a fabulous job at this club” “ they have a team full of power that can really hurt you “

We would hear comments like this week in week out for years. Yet yesterday and he couldn’t find it in him to do it …..

It's a very Wilder style interview, that's probably the best way of describing it.

He’s lost a tight game late on that he had some extra personal incentive to win and he was asked for his thoughts almost straight after…do I agree with what he’s said on us trying to hurt their keeper no, but he’s just hurting right after a match.

There’s nothing to see here. FL speaks about him respectfully and knows what he did for the club, sure they’ll have privately cleared things up, shaken hands and moved on. MR has made them very tough to beat and it’s taken a brilliant goal to take the points.
