Sounds like a good excuse to get in the casino

Right very specific complaint.

Couldn’t get disabled parking this year, Dad can’t walk long distances. So we’ve had to wait for the Police to open the road so we can get a taxi from the arena or get someone to collect us.

Not a huge issue, except now it’s fucking freezing and there’s no seating outside and stewards tell you to piss off out the stadium as soon as the players are off the pitch.

So what does this mean? An even longer wait for disabled supporters with nowhere comfortable to wait?

Genuinely confused as to what this will mean to people waiting for a lift.

Could you take him to the casino after the game, then at least you should be able to stay warm until it clears and you can get a cab?

Can you just go in the casino and sit down? Or do I need to bring my lucky socks?

On the above, why the determination to get everyone out as quickly as possible? Why close the bars after half time? I remember Brighton away a few years back we saw the train queues and just stopped in the stadium for another drink after.

That’s the real kicker. Especially for night games. Just leave a fucking coffee shop or something open.

And I’ve seen pedestrians intentionally walkout in front of moving cars at pelican crossings to get them to stop.

There wouldn’t be any problems if people just followed the rules of the road.

One thing this club is spectacularly good at is pissing off different sectionsof the support.

I think it is interesting that the club say they can’t keep away fans in the stadium after the match but are happy to keep people in car parks.

Not really ideal !! but i can see the safety aspect - at Ipswich Saturday they closed the roads around the stadium but not for long - cars were waiting on the edge to go through

Fact they don’t leave the bars open so people can have another pint is poor, especially with this announcement

True malc, least you’d be at the front of the queue of the car park for when the road reopens after the game

Realistically, how many would stay behind and have a pint? Couldn't see many staying in a cold concourse, even after a 3pm kick off.

Get yourself onto Wheelright lane turn right towards Bedworth keep going you will go over the M6 keep going towards Bedworth you will come to a bridge going over the road that is the A444 going back towards Coventry turn immediatily right under the bridge that will take you back to the M6 coming from Nuneaton direction hope that helps probably about 10 or 15 minutes tops.Safe journey.

Ipswich was rammed. Took me 'til 18:10 just to get on the A14. That's not a good example.

Try telling that to people driving through centre of Bedworth some driver come at a fair speed( should be less than 20) when they know there might well be pensioners on walking sticks or with trollies crossing. Mind you probably the same one who come through the town from the opposite direction because they can't read signs.

My brother was in the away end at Oxford vs Bolton last week.

Took nearly 90mins to get out of the (free) away end car park.

Yeah but that means people have to walk further! Why do you think we have pedestrian crossings every 100 metres in towns and cities?

Traffic is going to be a nightmare.

Not when at a pelican crossing and the traffic lights are at green for the cars, meaning the little man is red for the pedestrians.

Just for some clarification, of my stance on this, when we came back from France in 2016 after living there for 2 years, I was astonished at just how bad traffic light compliance was in England. I have had drivers in the car behind me gesticulating because I stop at red lights.

So, in my view, both cars and pedestrians should comply with the light system and stop when they are red (for cars amber unless unsafe to do so) and proceed when green.

Not when people remain on the road. Common sense deserts both driver and pedestrians. I guess you’d stop if you saw someone on the road?

I am talking about people who start crossing after the lights have turned green, therefore after it will have been indicated that they must not start to cross. That is not the same as people still crossing who started before the lights changed.

Your inference is that people can cross light controlled crossings at any time and expect cars to stop for them. Surely that isn't the case.

Rule 21

At traffic lights. There may be special signals for pedestrians. You should only start to cross the road when the green figure shows. If you have started to cross the road and the green figure goes out, you should still have time to reach the other side, but do not delay. If no pedestrian signals have been provided, watch carefully and do not cross until the traffic lights are red and the traffic has stopped. Keep looking and check for traffic that may be turning the corner. Remember that traffic lights may let traffic move in some lanes while traffic in other lanes has stopped.

Rule 21: At traffic lights, puffin and pelican crossings. *At pelican crossings only.

Rule 22

Pelican crossings. These are signal-controlled crossings operated by pedestrians. Push the control button to activate the traffic signals. When the red figure shows, do not cross. When a steady green figure shows, check the traffic has stopped then cross with care. When the green figure begins to flash you should not start to cross. If you have already started you should have time to finish crossing safely.
