2nd Middlesbrough WON 24pts
_____________________________
Stoke LOST 18pts
Leicester LOST 17pts
Ipswich LOST 13 pts

Gap to 3rd widens a bit more. 4/5 auto rivals lost. All parachute teams lost!

Not gonna add or remove any rivals yet . Maybe if likes of Bristol hang around for till next international break can add them but for me it's still these 5 teams who will rival us

Here's to more weeks like this!

I care.

I have no affection for Stoke at all but I still hold Mark Robins in high esteem for all that he did for us and I'd be very happy if they came up with us.

In second place, obviously 😊

Think they'll fall away but I fully expect boro to go the distance.
Be nice to see a couple of teams unseat the parachute brigade

Not sold on Boro getting automatics just yet. I guess if I was I'd be celebrating cov as promoted already!
Not if they keep playing like last night when they lacked the willingness to kill off a game. I know they should have had a penalty to help with that but better teams than Wednesday would have got something from the game.

Boro will be around there, same for Leicester imo. We just have to stay as consistent as possible and we will be fine.

Leicester will have a points deduction
Their real gap behind us is therefore around 17 points

If youre not convinced, they are 12/1 for a top 2 finish
The bookies wouldnt be offering those odds unless they were convinced

Note we are odds of 7/12

we are 1/12 to finish top 6 , leicester are odds against at 13/8 - so more likely to finish out of the top 6 than within

When interviewed recently, Robins said they are miles off an automatic promotion team.
Think he was trying to dampen some over enthusiastic Stoke fans claims. Also probably saying wants players in January.

Is it time to include Millwall in the rivals? They do seem to be having a cracking season so far except for against us

I'm open to what majority say but for me I wanna wait till intl break before adding anyone to the auto rival list

Also im thinking of a team falls 18pts behind 2nd they get eliminated from the list

Southampton not a million miles away from that!

Southampton's next five games are tough. I'd imagine their automatic chances will be gone after those block of fixtures, along with Still.

I do look at Southampton’s team though and see a lot of talent.

It should be better but it doesn't look that good to me. Think they've ballsed up their recruitment in a big way, including the manager.

Southampton are the biggest underachievers in the championship according to xg.
They clearly have some good players, so maybe just poor management ?

Bad luck more likely. I would expect them to turn things round and start moving up the table at some point. Hopefully we’re even further ahead by that point though.

Does poor management lead to great xg though? Is it bad luck or poor play from the actual players?

@TomRad85 lots of teams have had good runs recently like Preston, wba and QPR so for me just need the test of longevity before adding anyone. If in 2 weeks Millwall haven't fallen away then will defo add them

There's only so long you can cling to " but muh xG is good" if you can't finish your dinner and you give away shite goals then you've got a problem. It's a results game at the end of the day.

The Southampton fans aren't getting angry at 'bad luck', they're getting angry about Will Still.
To be fair it's probably a combination of both ie unlucky and poor management.

Football fan will always prefer to blame someone for poor results rather than chalk it up to bad luck. You are right that both factors are probably to blame though.
