I wasn't aware that had been a transfer of ownership to that extent, and so my statement on the Compass front was more speculative than anything and was based on the amount of money Compass have invested (which is substantial). 23% of a lot is still a lot, but I take your point.
As far as Ricoh are concerned, it is an industry I know and I spoke to somebody from the board of Ricoh UK at an event earlier in the year. He was a bit guarded to be honest, which is understandable, but he did let on that they were monitoring it and would consider their options in the eventuality that the club relocated, but the impression I got was that they weren't exactly jumping through hoops at the prospect. In terms of what they are able to do about it (contractually), on that I have no idea.
On your final point, it is somewhat tiresome that we are still at the point where any attempt to discuss the actions of ACL or the potential consequences for ACL is suggestive of an eagerness for ACL to 'fail'. I have no affinity to ACL, no more than I do the company that make my car or the shop that sells me fruit and veg. When I die, I won't ask for my ashes to be scattered outside my local Tesco, nor for that matter a building managed by Arena Coventry Ltd. I will however ask that they are scattered somewhere in and around the home of Coventry City FC.
That said, ACL manage a facility that is an important asset for the city, and for that reason I do not want them to fail, and I am certainly not 'desperate' for them to fail. That's absurd.
I do however believe that the club is more important to them than either they or their 'supporters' let on - and this is frustrating. They seem untouchable and any suggestion that we should put them under the microscope a little more is met with derision and not a little anger. Clearly, the bulk of our attention should be on SISU and the FL (and I will march on Saturday with everybody else) - but ultimately, if CCFC are to return to the Ricoh, certain concessions are going to have to be made. There will have to be talks, and before we even get to that point, surely ACL must face reality and come to terms with the fact that SISU/Otium are the preferred bidders and that they cannot hide forever behind "we'll only talk to the administrator". ACL will have to talk to SISU - so why not just get on with it, and why are we not putting pressure on them to do just that?
