So the few Doncaster fans who could be arsed to vote in a poll said they wanted him? How many was that? And why does that make it possible for Doncaster to "realistically steal Coventry City's manager"?
And Paul Ince was favourite to be our manager if you remember.
It's bollocks. And you know it. Nothing to do with the rent. Robins himself says he's happy and it will get sorted, so I can't see any reason for your obsession that Robins was off, when plainly there wasn't even a 1% chance he would go.
Does it really matter? I don't give 2 shits what other people think of our club.
Yes he will keep getting linked to every man and his dog. Whilst we look nationally as a bit of a joke.
Sort out the rent we look more stable we look like a sleeping giant. We look like a club players will come to.
Not look around then choose Swindon.
We need to give the media the perception we are very stable.
It will be better commercially for all deals, players and attendances.
Also then our manager will only be linked with teams bigger than us and not Doncaster

In other words you knew it was not realistic like with Bristol.
Yet both their fans and the bookies think it is very realistic, why?
Because they incorrectly think we are a skint club on the verge of collapse.
This conversation really isn't working.
It doesn't make it realistic, he is going nowhere.
Not to a bloody smaller club anyway.
They the fans and the bookies perceive it to be realistic.
As the national media portray us as skint and on the verge of collapse.
He was top of their fans poll. Their fans believed they could realistically steal Coventry City's manager.
So did all the bookies so no it was not one punter.
I didn't as I know the truth.
However in the national media we are a skint club on the verge of eviction.
When this rent is sorted clubs smaller than us will not think they have a chance of getting our man.

I'd give up if I was you donga, you have the sbt mafia after you.
I understand perfectly where you are coming from................
Do you know how bookies operate?
Yes they don't close the betting on a manager that they, don't believe is a realistic option. If they didn't think it was plausible they would be snatching the money out if your hands
Regarding fans expectation that is always unrealistic. Some though we could attract mick McCarthy and others said he wasn't good enough.
People base that expectation on the history if our club and its sleeping giant status- be it right or wrong.
Doncaster fans expectation is partly as SBT says because they are above us in the league.
However they also wrongly think we are financially screwed and in the verge if eviction or winding up.
Hence In their eyes and the bookies this would have been a contributory factor to their logic that they believed nicking our manager. When he is loving it here at a bigger club and things are going week and promotion is a very realistic option.
Do you know how bookies operate?
Yes unless they think something is a realistic option they won't close the betting on it. They will practically bite your hands off.

Mourinho was in the betting to be Cov manager!
The fact you have even just posted this
Highlights your complete lack of understanding at what I am saying.
To then put a hand slap makes it even funnier
You're reading too much into it, the primary reason is that they are doing better than us and MR has turned us around, so they see him as a realistic target, because they are 10 places above u.
They got told by MR anyway.
I know he is going nowhere.
That is not my point FFS.
Feels like I am trying to teach a load of nursery kids Quantum Physics.
This conversation really should not be that hard.
We don't pay our rent = When the national media speak about coventry they focus on a club that can't afford it's rent and maybe wound up or be made homeless (not true) evidenced by the Guardian and the daily mail and Sky Sports. =
The fans of clubs who would not normally think they could poach our players or manager. Wrongly perceive that we are in the shit and its makes it a more realistic idea to them. = they bet on it as they believe it = odds shorten. Bookies also believe it maybe be possible due to a variety of reasons including the perception we are a financially unstable club.
Hopefully your contact is 'on the money', but it wouldn't surprise me, I should've been 'done and dusted' beforehand..
MR has stated he doesnt want to leave so this is (hopefully) somewhat academic...but
Of course the state and market perception of an business/employer effects whether a successful employee may leave or be poached.
a) MR might want to leave to a better salary and stable club with investment funds
b) Clubs will see an opportunity to tempt him away because of this
c) Clubs may think CCFC will let him break his contract for a nice severance fee, because CCFC need the money.
Its bleedin' obvious, but the 3 unwise monkeys still wont get it:facepalm:
Is this your attempt to cheer us up after a defeat -- by posting mind numbing rubbish?
It hasn't worked.

I particularly liked the 'do you know how bookies work line'.
I like the 'some fans on a forum wanted him so it's bound to be true' line.
I particularly the Torch still not understanding the point of the comments and making up lines that are not actually posted anywhere.
But hey ho it sounds better
The point you are attempting to make is that the reason mark robins was being considered for manager of Doncaster had something to do with us being in financial difficulties.
The bookmaker comment which you found amusing is relevant as it blows your argument. When some fans in here and in the media talked about wilder being our manager some had money on him. He became bookies favourite and bets were suspended. This had zero to do with wilder ever being remotely considered.
(By the fans and bookies, I have repeated myself about 5 times that he is not going anywhere. One of the reasons the fans and bookies believe it is plausible is because in the national media we are portrayed a a club in financial meltdown, purely due to the rent debacle)
(It really isn't that complicated.
I don't think MR is going to Doncaster and have never said that.
I think their fans think they had a chance because of a combination of their league position and their believe that we are either going to be evicted or closed down, because we can't afford our rent.
Both of which I don't think will happen. However that is how it is reported in the national press.
It doesn't take a genius to work out the correlation a manager does well. The club he is at are in a financial mess. We have a better chance of poaching him, even though in many ways we are a smaller club (fans)
It really is quite straight forward to understand.
Replies such as
Mourinho was on our list
Do you know how bookies work
Because of our Rent MR is not going to Doncaster
You believe because the Doncaster fans believe it then MR is off
Show a complete lacking of basic understanding of the point and yes I probably would prefer to talk to Snoz or Mr MBA
as they seemed to have the ability to read information understand analyse it and reply with a sound and rationale point of view
