Francis Thomas, from London Midland, said the Wasps matches had been chosen for the trial above Coventry City FC matches due to historic crowd numbers with the rugby club attracting 16,116 for the Harlequins game and 32,000 for the Leicester fixture last season.

Coventry City FC have attracted crowds over 16,000 twice so far this season, against Port Vale and Burton Albion.
He said: “We have had no discussions with Coventry City FC at this stage, but no disrespect to the football club, Wasps are attracting bigger crowds at the moment and they own the ground, so it’s sensible to run the trial with the biggest numbers we can.”
Based on what LM have previously said about the cost of running on a matchday Wasps must be putting in the region of £15K a game into this.
Noticed the dig about attendances, Wasps average this season is a massive 619 more than us. Probably why the CT has chosen to use last years figures for them.
Also what happened to the SAG not allowed the station to be open as it would be dangerous?
Why would the telegraph make out it's attendances? As previously stated, its not really about attendances is it, its due to the fact Wasps are jointly financing the trial... Im not particularly sure of the benefits for fans living in Cov, using a bus services works out far better, The football club ought to be looking into operations where buses can do pick ups from pubs...
Why would the telegraph make out it's attendances?
I think more people seem to be getting fed up with it.
I agree about the bus idea.
They know they can fill the trains for these two matches that's why they've picked them. Even I don't think everything is a SISU conspiracy why is it you and others on here think everything the CET publishes is?
Having said that the collision of the two black holes is definately down to SISU
Read it... It isn't because of attendances they are picking Wasps games. It is because Wasps are paying for it...
They compare attendance from last season to make wasps look a bit better
Can you not notice the PR bits and the digs?
Yes ok not getting into an argument over this
I wasn't trying to, just asking whether you can see it or not?
Only if he wants to.

Makes sense to do wasps after all most of the fuckers come from London anyway...
It actually mentions that our attendances are better than theirs this season Nick. I wouldn't wipe my arse with the telegraph but there's no tin foil hat to make this time.
Play the game Hill.
Boooo! Down with this sort of thing! Etc.
Odd how diesel stock is now available isn't it?
Let's just shut the football club down, it's saying something when sections of its own support treat it like a joke.
We seem to be concentrating more on Wasps actually getting on and doing things rather than CCFC getting on and doing their thing.
What's to stop CCFC doing the same ?

Wasps are paying for it aren't they?
Not all no. Also I repeat the line will not be electrified.
So they're subsidising it then. Not odd at at all then. The line's not being electrified? Why has no one ever mentioned this before?
I've mentioned it. A councillor interviewed by Eakin one Friday confirmed there is very little chance of electrification in the next few years and diesel was "the only realistic option"
But then it is contradicted
