He's retired after 4 years at Man City. Has never got on the pitch and has only made the bench 3 times.

His wages while he was there - £1.4m.

He hasn't really played properly for 6 years.

He didn't get to play for Preston, but then moved to Man City.

Very Strange!

Too much air resistance when he goes for a save.

Do you remember that goalie at Chelsea Ross Turnball ? He was on £40.000 a week and couldn't even get a game in the capital cup

In such a situation I'm always interested in why people are interested in such a story. Is it because he didn't get a game even though he trained everyday and probably help train the goalies, or is it because of the amount of money he earned?

I suppose in a way it's a strange kind of admiration
His agent got him the very best deal he could
He made a fortune good luck to him

Its a sign of how twisted modern football is. He 'earns' millions when already very very well off, when grass roots level football is massively lacking in investment.

Keepers like him must love and hate their time in the game at times. Love being on a great wage, but hate not playing! Surely it de-skills you.

One that amazed me the most was Steve Harper. Was it 10 years that he was at Newcastle and only made a handful of appearances? Must have played twice the amount in his time at Hull than he did at Newcastle
