I wonder when the retained list will be released and who will be off?

Hiwula gone. Baka not good enough for the Championship I don't think. Biamou probably not good enough either.

Be interesting to see how Shipley fares. I think he will stay, but not sure on how often he would feature. Liam Kelly maybe a little slow for the Championship too.

I lot of players I haven't seen, other than on the TV, so can't comment on them, but Marosi and Dabo look very good.

Agree with this

Even Godden I don't think will be a first teamer.

Lots of work to do in the Summer!

The good news for those that are released it will be easier to get a place in a L1 club now, in fairness I hope no one goes , we can’t afford wages much either

I like him. Just wondering if it is a step too far.

Junior Brown
Charlie Wakefield
Jordan Young
Zain Westbrooke
Reise Allassani
Amadou Bakayoko
Jordy Hiwula

All out of contract. Can see MR letting them all go, with maybe a 1 year contract for Westbrooke

For me he's a good squad player but not a first teamer.

Happy to be proved wrong, he's been excellent at times this season!

Last season's intake all had three year deals, so unless we can move them on they'll stick around or go out on loan.

Brown and Allassani I'd presume are gone, given their age and failure to break through. The rest all fall into the same category for me, not really an issue if Robins wants to keep them but wouldn't be upset if any of them weren't here next season.

Suspect Young, Westbrooke and Wakefield are the most likely to get offers to stay given their ages. Would be cheap squad players if Robins thinks they're still developing and there's not better options coming through..

just cant see players like westbrooke playing anything other than under 23's. If Baka is as much as on the bench in championship, i think it will show the quality of our squad.

Wish them well., but all can go for me....

You wouldn’t keep Westbrooke? Think he’s worth another year

no probs if he stays, just cant see him playing anywhere near anything other than a very bit part in championship. Suspect he will want more than a 1 year extension as well

Think we will need to keep hold of some of these players for depth, football finance is going to be squeezed next year as it is so keeping Baka and Westbrooke as relatively inexpensive options off the bench feels logical.

Both at an age where they could kick on in which case they play or earn a fee otherwise bin them off before the prem season 21/22

Same, i suspect he might be the only one who is offered a deal and could well offer more.

I get westbrooke, but no for baka from me,

We have Godden and Biamou, very much as a number 1 and 2. I would expect us to sign a superior striker akin to James Collins and a prem loanee. No place for baka in a team who plays 1 up front and has 4 strikers, he wont be happy with 5th choice

I agree with you. I think there's a decent player there. Might be able to step up. Certainly wouldn't release him.

Westbrooke has a year option so club may well invoke that and see how he gets on. So does Baka but think he may well leave now after promotion with Max still having time left on his and likely to only warm the bench. Not sure if Hiwula does as well but again not going to be extended.

Other ones with an year option that won't be taken up are Bosma, Allassani, Hickman and Thompson.

Westbrooke deserves a new contract. It's easy to forget that him and Shipley were key cogs in the machine for the first half of the season.

yeah it’s a fair point... Unless there is any business sense in taking the year on Baka, stick him on loan til Jan and see how he gets on. He was enough of a prospect for us to spend a fee and he’s only just turned 24

Have to disagree with you about Biamou Otis... scored some vital goals for us and has a good football brain. And holds the ball up well. Yet to be fully fit for a whole season buts lots more to come from him I think...

Talking Westbrook thought he was excellent the first two or three months of the season went off the boil a little around xmas time but overall did well, this was his first full season of first team football, scored some goals, some assists too,I would definitely keep him.

Westbrooke is one of the best players at the club! Honestly one of the most neat, efficient and effective players we’ve had for a long time. The kid just runs and runs, provides options all over the place when we’re in possession and closes down all over the place when we’re out of it. Sadly, most fans notice players who dribble (like Bayliss) more than pass and movers (like Westbrooke) despite the later usually being more effective.

Hasn’t Westbrooke been subject to interest from Championship clubs all season? Worth holding onto. I think him and Shipley don’t get the plaudits because they’re not as flashy as O’Hare, Allen or Walsh, but they’re decent midfielders who are still developing.

Higher level still though, standup.

I like him, but we are now just one step below Premier level.

Think we have to hold no sentiment and make harsh choices.
