Its great to be back home, and I'm sure it will be a decent crowd. But, I hope the players play the game and not the occasion. Gillingham will look to crash this homecoming, just like Crewe crashed the #IWillBeThere party for the JPT.

All the pre-match talk for that was how big the attendance will be, and not the fact that we needed to beat a decent Crewe team who whacked 3 goals past us on the night - almost as if getting over 30,000 in the ground would ensure victory.

Here's hoping that the players won't be overawed by the occassion, and blast 'true home' goals past the Gills on the 5th.

Are you Steve Waggott or just using his quotes? ;)

He apparently said the 'I hope the players play the game and not the occasion' line in a recent interview!

Either way, it's a true statement. We always seem to turn up in numbers and the players fault to turn up at all.....

Come in City! PUSB

LOL, I swear I didn't know.

Its just that our record at CV6 in front of big crowds isn't that great. All of the pressure will be on us, Gills are expected to turn up for a arse-kicking in front of the welcoming legions of City fans and TV Cameras.

Pressley will probably walk into the away dressing room by mistake, "Sorry, not been here before!"

I didn't know til yesterday either!

Is is a good way to look at the fixture though. And I hope Pressley puts that across to the squad. Just hope we don't turn up after being away for so long and assume we have the result in the bag!

Then again, away team players used to be mesmerised by the Ricoh, so maybe ours will be as It will be the first time most of them will have played there! Use it as an away fixture at a premiership ground etc.....

Just look at the stats for that Crewe game, we absolutely battered them and their keeper had the night of his life. On another occasion we would have been at Wembley, that was just bad luck, great keeping and poor finishing. It was a freak result.

That may be true, but it's always the result that's taken note of, not individual performances ( although for a change most CCFC fans were in agreement that the keeper wouldn't have a game like it again in his career ;) )

True, but all that matters is the result, and on the 5th I don't want the 10pm news on SSN reporting that "Cov come home....to a battering!! Match highlights coming up." That would be deflating to say the least for everyone.
