Burge. Never been so pleased to see a name on the "out the door" list.

Gotta say it’s good Chaplin isn’t on the list, hopefully we just sell him normally.

Termination of a contract? Doesn’t really fit the job specification of a striker.

There is no chance we will sell Chaplin. I dont want us to get rid of him, sure he missed chances but so did all our other strikers, he is 21, he has alot of improvement to make but think he will and will inevitably hit a purple patch.

McNulty was 4 years older than Chaplin, missed sitters then it came good for him, I believe the same will happen with Chaplin, maybe not 25+ goals but think of played as a striker alongside a biamou or bakayoko or someone else, could get 15+ goals for us.

But we don’t play with 2 strikers.

Even with the sitters McNulty missed, you could see there was potential. Can’t say the same for Chaplin. WATCH: Conor Chaplin's dreadful miss for Coventry

Tbh, i think Robins is going to look elsewhere from Baka and Chaplin, clearly this year has been a big problem for goal scoring... i doubt hes going to go into another season with the same strike force hoping it "comes good".

Would a Biamou / Chaplin partnership have worked?

It’s worth a try, but wouldn’t be surprised if MR looks at bringing in another striker.

Can't really have a partnership with 1 striker. Chaplin doesn't work in the number 10 role.

I like Biamou, just think Chaplin is too lightweight, and some of the chances he missed last year my grandmother would have scored with her left ass cheek.

A strike partnership where neither have any speed or ability on the ball. It's a yikes from me.

I think we will have a brand new team next season, I think team for next season will be

GK New
RB New
LB Mason
CB Hyam
CB McFadzean

MF Kelly
MF New

LW Hiwula/Jones
RW New
10 New/Bright?
CF New

Apart from Hiwula who began to come good at the end of the season, I cannot see any of the forwards being a first pick

You really don't think Bayliss is going to go into next season as first choice?

I don’t think he will be in the starting 11 if he’s even still here then.

Well that is true but maybe that was a contributing factor to not scoring many goals accompanied with the poor finishing from our strikers.

I just dont think Chaplin knows exactly where and what position to play, often when I watched him he just seemed unsure of exactly where to be which then resulted in him being in no man's land half the time. I think he is a poacher, finishing off the moves rather than being integral in the build up.

My point being if we are setting up in a similar style to last season, we have Hiwula occupying the left, AN other on the right and then possibly Bright (if a deal can be done) behind a lone striker.

If we began to play 2 up top it still wouldn’t mean Chaplin would be first choice as Hiwula surely would lay claim to that position. After all, he wouldn’t be able to play left mid in a 442.

The style and personnel we are taking on/looking to take on suggest that we will stick to 4231.

But what was his intention when he started to pursue Chaplin? Bimaou wasn’t injured then and the partnership with McNulty had worked. I saw that as two up top, perhaps he had to change his plan because of the injury?

Shows a lack of football knowledge if you think it has to be a Rigid 4-4-2? There are numerous options, which could incorporate a number of attacking players. We don't know what players we are taking on. We have signed one CB.

Chaplin will come good. Might not be here, but i think it would be a shame if he wasn't given longer to prove himself.

Burge should be proud of himself. He won a trophy and promotion which will look good on his Application form to McDonalds.

Lack of football knowledge. Wow. Well aware there are other formations thank you very much. Sometimes I base my thinking on what managers have done previously, which suggests either what we have now or 442. Besides, find me a formation that has 3 central strikers or 2 central strikers and a left striker. They don’t happen (aside from maybe Wigan c.2004) for good reason; it leaves the rest of the team exposed.

My over-arching point is that whatever way you look at it, Chaplin being a starter (unless he tries both him and Hiwula) is unlikely.

Too many "New" to win anything - unless we are very very lucky. Willis, Davies & Hyam in particular had plenty of experience together

I'd be surprised if Wolves sorted anything too early. They (and Bright) may wish to wait a while and see what is offered (money) and loan opportunities. Brilliant if he did return to us, but....
