He picked the ball up and delayed the restart. Should have been sent off really as how he didn't get booked for the push earlier, I don't know.

Todays ref was woeful, as already said he lost the game and his head.

Agreed. And their player wasnt booked?! Although earlier on, Rudoni not being booked after retaliating and pushing their bloke twice, and their bloke being booked for pushing him once, was equally odd.

You can tell we’ve been on a good one because the referee thread hasn’t been updated for a month!
I thought yesterday’s ref was quite good. Okay, he missed the foul on Kitching, but his assistant should’ve seen that.
Very, very rare that you get a penalty for pushing and shoving in the box. As most of it is 50-50 there should be as many penalties as there are free kicks the other way.
The booking for the dive was a rare treat, on first viewing I thought it was a foul. I haven’t seen a replay.
I was half expecting Ephron’s goal to be ruled out as a foul on the goalie as they always are.
So credit where it is due. Even wore black!
Edit. Dovin’s booking for time wasting before a substitution which was waiting to happen was a bit strange

The pulling was happening before every corner. The ref would’ve warned them before the penalty that persistence will cost.

Oxford were dull and prehistoric and the division could do with ridding itself of them.

Let's not do this. A few good seasons and now we're dismissive of newly promoted teams because of the way they play. What have we done to show that type of arrogance?

Think back to not so long ago and the whole "sexy football" thing.

I didn’t see any issues with the ref but the Oxford fans were whining like piglets and on their forum. Lampard reckons their 1st goal should have been chalked off for a foul. I haven’t watched it back.

For all the poor goals we’ve conceded this season, EMC and Simms’ goals in recent games is a sign that things are evening out for us.

Oxford claiming he gave us everything but I thought it was even.

Kitch clearly fouled for the goal and Dovin obstructed.

Ref seems to have acknowledged that he missed the foul for their first goal and tried to level things up by giving the pen.

Not really, Kioso was pulling Thomas’s shirt off and then jumped on his back, all in front of the ref. He would have slated if he hadn’t given it, but Kioso also fouled Bidwell after the pen was saved, he took him out as he followed up, could have been a second pen. He should have been carded for lots of fouls, including the one which lead to Tats’s goal

Don’t think he could for the tats goal one cos we took it quickly so a promising attack wasn’t denied.

I don’t recall us throwing ourselves over and lunging in with heavy challenges and elbows because the footballing side of things were lacking. Zero arrogance, it was clear they dragged us down with that shit.

I'd say you have a short memory then.

'The league would be better off without them because of the football they play'. Sounds like something a plastic PL fan would say.

Zero arrogance? "They dragged us down". It's all football, the championship is a tough league and they've just been promoted. They should play in a way to knock us off our game.

if you watch the pen from the angle looking towards that goal it's a clear shirt pull by their player

Oxford are just being salty losers

Is if just me, or does anyone else here get frustrated by seeing defenders wrapping both arms round the man they're marking at corners and free kicks? I can't believe they don't get penalised for this. Refs just delay the kick while they go and explain to players that they're not supposed to do that cos its a foul. It would be great if they just let them get on with it and then award a penalty for it

If they can’t count to six seconds, why do we think that 8 seconds is going to work?

because a corner is easier for a ref to give in their heads than an indirect free kick in the middle of the goal

in the trials it seems very little corners were given for this as the keeper gets ref of it as soon as the ref starts visually counting down from 5

Does the clock start as soon as they've picked the ball up or do they get some sort of grace period to get their bearings?

That'd be better off clamping down on the rugby tackles in the penalty area for corners and free kicks.

Nice to see a referee on Saturday against Oxford have the ball's to give a penalty.

Still absolutely raging about the penalty decision.

Still don’t understand reasoning behind ref not giving it.

Can’t be a high foot as he gave a goal kick-reminded me of the wipe out tackle on Lamerias against Sheff Utd.

Also the free kick that gave them the equaliser-he ran into the back of Dasilva and fell over-should’ve been given the other way. Never seen a Lino so eager to flag!

Very poor decisions Could’ve cost us.

Watched it a few times and not excusing it as it was a diabolical decision but emc was already on his way down which may have been in his thinking

He would of still put the ball in the net if he wasn't hacked down though. I think the ref saw it as a 50/50. Definitely pen and a yellow card

It was as honking a decision as you will ever see.

Even though we didn't play well, I'd've been so pissed off if we'd not won, because 3-0 at half time, and it's a very different game.
