hahaha no i don't think i've ever actually posted on there other than updating my jobs. I just find it good for easy applying and reaching out to old contacts.
LinkedIn - I literally re-post stuff and log on each day to play the games!

That’s rough Saddle, I hope all works out in the end!

I’ve been on the other side of it, a few years ago 2 people in my team went through the redundancy process and it’s a depressing thing to go through.

It’s a rough time to be a job seeker too, the economic outlook for many businesses is grim because of recent government policies.

I avoid LinkedIn like the plague. It’s become Facebook for professionals. It’s certainly has its uses for job seekers though. It’s my first port of call when looking at vacancies.

My advice for anyone seeking work to put their CV on all sites because you never know what recruiters will see on them.

That’s how I got into my line of work in 2019, completely random chance a recruiter noticed my threadbare CV with a history and politics degree…

Had it last year and had to reapply for my own job. Wish I had took the redundancy to be honest as I ended up with loads more work for no extra money.
They dropped that on me two days before going on holiday so had that on my mind the whole time I was away

Job Market at the moment is bloody awful

Got a final stage interview for somewhere on Monday but aside from that pretty slim pickings, the odd call here and there 😞
Best of luck with the Interview, I'm retired now but took voluntary redundancy twice during my working life and remember taking a couple of absolutely crap jobs while looking to get back into my trade.

Came to have a rant about the job market and saw this thread lol got the heads up about redundancy end of November and confirmed 9th December. Got my payout so decided to relax over Christmas and not get too stressed but I've only got enough money to see me to the start of March and pay those bills on the 1st now.

Job market in my industry sounds similar to yours. Hardly any jobs and those that are out there are shite. Saw a Senior Engineer role including installation, programming and commissioning of systems (3 separate roles at my last place) and mentoring a junior staff member.... £32k. I've had one interview that went nowhere and another that cancelled an hour before.

Add in that my landlord has just said he's upping my rent my £105/month. It's been 2.5 years since my last increase so is probably fair just couldn't be worse timing!

Saddle, just seen this .
I work for National Grid, you probably know our giant HQ is at Gallows Hill in Warwick, it’s absolutely huge place that luckily I don’t have to go to very often
Have you checked our site we are always after cyber security professionals. Great company to work for
