Recommend a Book (1 Viewer)

I have just started reading books on my phone and got a couple of the book store but just wondered if anybody can recommend any as the reviews on there are not the best at the best of times.

Only really like true stories like autobiographies and crime books so none of this Lord of the Rings stuff.

What are you reading at the minute? Are there any decent city related books I should be looking for on there?

You should be able to get all Anthony Price's books - slow moving but absolutely brilliant - think John Le Carre type of writing.

By crime books do you mean novels or accounts of real life crime? If it's the former I like George Pelecanos' stuff.

Watch a film instead! Books are too time consuming. Once you know how to read, why read a book? Do you still sit at home practicing maths too?

not a book Nick but if your into the crime sort of thing and prison life etc a film called "Murder In The First" (Gary Oldman, Christion Slater, Kevin Bacon) could be worth a watch. Really good film.

I wouldn't have a clue but I'm sure like most autobiographies no two people see or remember incidents the same.

There was a bit about my mate in the book. He said he gave him a slap, and a round house kick to the belly, the round house kick was pure fabrication, he did give him a slap though.

One of the best Football books around that took me 2 days to read :

Family, Life, Death and Football" by Michael Calvin

Michael Calvin was a Daily Mirror sportswriter who spent all of the 2009/2010 season with Millwall as they went up to the Championship.

He has covered every aspect of matters on and off the pitch. and reveals much about Kenny Jackett's methods as a manager.

It is rare that you find something so well written and truly insightful about the sport and football at our level.

Don't be put off that it's about Millwall all football fans will enjoy this.

Stieg Larsson's - Girl With / Who trilogy is very good.

Chris Kuzneski is a great author too. Fiction, crime stuff. A little like Dan Brown, but not as religious.
