Coventry bbc 606 is dying a slow death it seems...so im gonna give SBT a go now:wave:

great display, best of the season imo even if we didnt manage to win, every one played their socks off for the shirt(v nice shirt too!) and i think most cov fans went home with a big smile on their faces

so nice to see 1 touch passing,1-2's,cross field pass, swithcing play to different flanks, through balls etc at the ricoh from us instead of the opposition!

as i said everyone played well,my ratings would be

Quirke - 8 - kicking was suspect but he made 1 brilliant save from antonio and managed to keep a clean sheet in what must have been a nervy match for him,if he our westwood replacement? im not so sure but he did well today

Hussey - 7 - usually he looks good in attack and suspect defending today was the opposite lol

Crainie - 9 - didnt put a foot wrong

Keogh - 8 - solid altho lost the ball on some mauruding runs, cant do that as a CB rich! actually scrap that,we want attacking footy at the ricoh, mistakes wil happen, keep it up,hes our lucio/luiz!

Clarke - 8 - i am not a hater,he needs to work on his game but today he was CLASS bar his reluctance to put a cross in or overlap the winger, but had a geat game othrwise.

Clingan - 8 - runs the midfeild, only reason he doesnt get a 9 in my book is that hes so confident now that he was trying to pass out of his own defensive box when for once we really did need to hoof it! could have cost us a goal in anothr game, but bar that he was EXCELLENT and is really playing well

Bell - 7 - out paced a reading defender in 93rd minute...oh yes! id like to see him attack defenders in corner more though

Gunnarson - 9 - MOTM, a warrior performance fro our viking thor! if hes gonna play like this under thorn please sign the contract!

Baker - 8 - lional messi at times, goals will come if he becomes a regular

Juke - 7 - worked hard but not his day today, needs to be more clinical

King - 8 - always looks a threat, great hold up/link up play, unlucky not to have scored, please sign king! pleaseeeeeeeeee!

Platt/Wood - not enough time on pitch to rate

Let's not forget people that reading are the hottest team in the league and needed point to clinch playoffs, and we out played them9they did look dangerous at times mind), some players fans wrote off are looking like match winners all of a sudden and im very excited for next season as for once i dont get the feeling that this is new manager honeymoon perioid, theres a new mentality at the ricoh next season and its ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!

PUSB! ANDY THORNS SKY BLUE ARMY!

Perhaps Andy Thorn has just gave him the confidence to play? All the player's performed today and deserve their high rating's :)

We could really progress under Andy Thorn and this new style. I'm really looking forward to next season already. :)

I think some biased scoring there, but that's no problem with me as I also often see games through rose tinted spectacles. We were good in spells and deserved to win on balance but equally could easily have lost that through some disorganised spells and in times gone by we probably would have. Reading were a good side that we out-passed, out-thought and for most part out-classed. Unfortunately we didn't score and at times wereourselves out-muscled, but a massive stride forwards and stilllearning a new pattern of play.

3 MoM and we all think someone different - all about opinions I guess. I think Clingan was excellent today and if the season was longer would have been close to player of the season. He has been awesome last few weeks - as good as Marlon's goals imo. Ever since Thorn has tajken over he seems to get on the pall so often and wants the ball all the time. Does the simple thing and runs the show. It's been many a year since we've cried out for aplayer like this in a City shirt. Saw a glimpse of what it should be like in Wise a few years back and of course an ageing MacAllister was class, but if Sammy keeps going on like this he will be talked of in the same bracket.

3 different MOTM opinions shows how good we must have played!

yeh maybe i am a tad over zealous but at the same time we really did play well and deserved to win, on 606 forum i get labelled a coventry hater if i post that a player did badly lol

It was a really good game of football today, we made a very good Reading side look very ordinary at times, im just slightly disappointed that we didnt get the goal that our play deserved. Looking forward to next season already

yeh, gonna hate this summer wait! hopefully we can get thse 3 contracts sorted quickly and let thorn do some business over the summer,he will know what we want really think we could mix it with the best next season on what ive seen so far from him dont get me wrong lots to work on including mental strength but i didnt think our players had any technical skills ,hell didnt even have basic first touch but they are different players under thorn! i wonder how many will go and how many new faces will be brought in?

I thought Sammy Clingan was superb yesterday, ran the midfield and caused alot of problems. Baker played well but his final distribution was poor, he gets that part of his game sorted then we would have a top class player in the making.

This is how I saw the game - The first half swung from us being in charge for the first 15 minutes to Reading having a 15 minute spell where we couldn't really get near them. Then it was all us again till the end of the half. Second half I really can't remember Reading troubling us. The whole team performance was superb yesterday, making Reading look quite ordinary. They looked like they'd just come for the point they needed.

Most improved players - Bell and Clarke. The whole team looks like a different team but these two have been unbelievable! After going to Cardiff at christmas and seeing Clarke then I thought there was no hope but he looks completely comfortable now. Thorn gets a lot of credit for the way we've been playing but he needs to get a hell of a lot more for turning certain players around!

Good to see you here covcity4life :)

Think the performance was pretty much on the up but had Reading scored late in first half I am not sure we would have got that back. However thats academic as they didnt and in the end a draw flattered the visitors.

Gunnar certainly had one of his better days, but I think Clingan gets MOM from me.

Generally I thought the back four played well, Clarke & Hussey are settling well into their roles. Keogh is playing well in the center but it is Crainie that holds it all together

Midfield Clingan bossed it and Baker had his most effective game in weeks, Gunnar had a very good game (wonder if that was a farewell present to the fans?) Think Bell has been under rated by some here and was an important part of the performance.

Up front we misfired a bit, the second ball didnt drop in our favour but the work, desire and application of King & Juke shows other strikers we have what is required. For me our first choice front two is King & Juke...... they play off each other and support each other, yes Juke makes the wrong choices sometimes but the two are developing a good understanding

Think the end of the season comes too soon because the last few weeks at the Ricoh have been much more enjoyable..... rather than considering not renewing I am looking forward to next season, I guess thats the AT effect :)

Crainie was my man of the match , I thought Keogh also did very well in the centre and I liked the way he was helping and talking to the younger lads Clarke and Quirke .
Funny moment -Quirke getting bollocking off Thorn for standing in middle of own half arguing the toss with Keogh as a free kick was about to be taken .
Also impressed with Baker

Best moment was Quirke skinning Shane Long. Too funny.

Quirke did well given his lack of experience. You can hardly expect him to be as composed as Westwood but he has made a reasonably competent start. The 10 in front of him insured he was rarely troubled

I wonder how much notice he was given that he was playing also!!!

I was watching sky sports today and they showed the highlights and basically shown two efforts from Reading and that was it!! Amazing how we dont get a look in on any channel!!!
