One of Ranson's businesses is lending clubs money for transfer fees at high interest rates, I.e. the sort of stuff the pre SISU board (Richardson, Robinson, Higgs et al) were into.

Think of the reason the right horrible mp for Coventry got involved in the the club and the eventual outcome. That’s the reason Ranson should not be here.

I do seem to remember people questioning the ‘it’s sisu or liquidation’ line being fed at the time.
They were drowned out by Mr Coventry and others, and we were swept along into the shitstorm we ended up with.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Not sticking up for Mr Coventry or anyone else but in fairness to him sisu changed track from their original plans they are all complicit in their own different ways, I have been told when the whole truth is told of the last ten years it will amaze us.

The right honourable MP that’s been mentioned had an alternative bid or option to the sisu bid so again in fairness he didn’t want them

Genuine question Nick, I don’t follow all the politics and stuff. But is this not a good thing if a bid is indeed coming in? Will it not put pressure on them to accept with the ground and EFL situation as it is. Be harder surely to face the EFL and say we have no ground but refusing to accept a bid anyway

Why is it harder to face the efl after refusing to accept a bid?

I think although we are now into squeaky bum time nothing will happen until the result of this appeal hearing from that who knows but I suspect should it get thrown out I think the ball will be in the sisu court as to what happens, they will have a plan I’m sure of that.

I mean if we can’t get a stadium deal, and a decent offer is there. Won’t the EFL question why they are putting us to the wall and not selling? As I say just a question

Because they will probably see how obvious it is as well.

They can't force a sale, especially when it's been planned to distress ccfc.

EFL can only get involved in football issues and how sisu run their businesses is nothing to do with them. This is still sisu v Wasps although to be perhaps more accurate sisu v Wasps and allies.

The EFL is a collection of club representatives basically. There’s no way they’d set precedent for a hostile takeover backed by the EFL.

What will happen? The telegraph will announce an interview with Hoffman. Everybody will get worked up thinking if wasps hold out the club will be handed to him and he has a long deal with wasps lined up.

Reality is sisu would have seen that coming and arranged a groundshare for us to move to and would probably rather liquidate us than hand over.

Why do people who despise SISU for everything that they have done, think that they will just ride off into the sunset and give CCFC to somebody else?

I think the hope is that someone is stupid enough to pay more than Sisu would make winding us up (including satisfaction bonus that Joy would get shutting us down). I’m not sure what that number looks like or if anyone has it who both wants us and we as fans would want.

There is no obvious groundshare, where is the ground to share ? and we can’t just pick one and share it, all sorts of issues come into it, need to get the okay off the local authority for one, police for another. Perhaps sisu have got a ground in mind I think they must have there’s nothing stopping our local media asking various local authorities if they have been approached or not, perhaps they have asked.

EXACTLY THIS.....posted this (below) on another thread... so obvious!!
"People maybe (hopefully!!) starting to see other villains...ccc/wasps (as well as SISU)... so a bid is made public, which will NEVER be accepted (SISU going nowhere) ...so que outrage (of the people that have no idea of anything other than "sisu bad- everybody else good") at not accepting bid... deflect away from others again.... This is where people think that somehow they can just acquire the club!?? BUT... it will be..... No deal, efl never going to kick us out, so obvious groundshare. Come on people... Get pressure on the people that don't want it on them... (wonder why!!!!!!????)"
SO SO FRUSTRATING!!!

So obviously, we ground share (shit for us) EFL approve it, and sisu hold out for wasps to go pop or just offer a buy out option for them. They are struggling and a poor season which it is will only weaken them. Business people being ruthless with no regard to the affects on a football club and supporters. Something needs to be fine in regards ownership it is shocking that it is allowed to happen

We are ground sharing because wasps won't do a deal. They are trying to distress ccfc thinking it bothers sisu and they will have to hand it over to hoffman or somebody.

That might happen but if it did in my opinion that is the end of Coventry City Football Club. Reason there’s no way back to Coventry this time for years if ever, legals will be continuing blocking any return to the Ricoh, fan base will diminish, could effect our Acadamy status, the thought is unthinkable really.

Spent a drunken half hour on a train with ranson a couple of years back

He said that Sisu pulled the plug the day of the Leeds game and yes sepalla was impossible to work with

He had a great relationship with acl. But because of sepalla had to keep going back on his word

What he couldn’t answer properly was why he got into bed with them in the first place

He had a great relationship with ACL as he was happy to continue to pay obscene rental monies despite the fact the club was bleeding cash due to dreadful decisions like paying Eastwood millions of pounds

Did you ask why he charged Wonga style interest rates on loans against the club and only actually resigned when a football league investigation was levied against him due to his involvement with the highly dubious owner of Cardiff City?

The last thing we need is the likes of Ranson sniffing around again. He has to shoulder a lot of the blame for the mess we're in. SISU would never have considered getting involved in football if it wasn't for him.

The role Elliot and Hoffman played in bringing him and SISU here has always been played down on the basis they were doing what they thought was best for the club but if they're still associating with him it raises serious questions regarding any future takeover attempt by Hoffman.

yes i did ask him about Cardiff
he was quite smug in the fact that they were part of the Welsh FA - and therefore outside of the England FA rules on third party ownership

Am I missing something here? I assumed everyone would. be against the possibility of Ranson coming back but some of our 'fans groups' are seemingly in favour and think he is blameless, rewriting history as it would all have been great if SISU hadn't interfered.
I would love Ranson to buy us
he left when SISU started showing their true colours
SISU being Sisu started going against the plan & Ranson left, look what has happened since
Surely Ranson, Hoffman,Elliott plus a few local millionaires could afford to save the club?
IF Hoffman does buy the club with his Consortium. He'd be very smart allowing Ranson to be chairman and join that consortium.

I was catching up with Fisherbaiters meltdown over the weekend and they were in those threads. PSB group seem quite happy for him to come back and Fisherbaiter thinks we were only losing money when Ranson was here as SISU were taking it out.

Fisherbaiter also forgot to change accounts when retweeting Cov United tweets!
