All very good ideas Tommy, and you're right football is different(would never in a million years look at running a football club if I had the money myself), but still think that they will see things through to their end plan, may even, with such campaigns as NOPM, give them spurious justification for liquidation?

As I've posted previously, I think we have to persuade them that we are not "at the bottom of the business cycle" as TF said at the forums - but rather, if they go ahead with the move to Northampton, they will look back on the current time as a land of milk and honey.

We have to starve them of money and persuade them that if they stay they will have to inject serious funding (real money not AVRO interest or inflated management fees) into the club - which I'm sure is not their plan.

They may choose to be vindictive and just liquidate the club (in which case - AFC Coventry), but I hope that business sense would prevail and they would accept the "couple of million" that they might get to sell on.

As an aside, I never criticised SISU for "taking" the CCFC shares for nothing. I thought that was reasonable, because the company was worth nothing and so the shares were worth nothing. However the same logic applies today and so we have to force them into a position where they will consider a realistic valuation of the company (i.e. not much) rather than any of this "get our investment back" fantasy.

Maybe but people on here are claiming we would be in the premiership now under ranson. That's rubbish.

And you know this how. No one can say what would have been or not. The point I am making is that we were in a dam site healthier position when he was here than we have been since he left

In terms of league position and status we were better before he turned up as well. His tenure was underachievement and poor decision making. Poor due diligence and missed the real opportunity of getting a share in the ground when the owners were fairly popular.

As for we don't know where we would be its a tame lazy argument. So we don't on that basis know Pressley won't be leading the club out for the champions league final in 4 years do we?

Indeed and in Coleman the wrong man was appointed to do the job.

But it is ok for you to say that it is rubbish when people say we could have been in the Prem. And no we don't know if Pressley will lead us to the CL final but I do think you are getting nuttier and nuttier

You look at the evidence to predict an outcome. Gates were on the decline and league position poor. Every management appointment he made was terrible and he sanctioned awful expensive signings on long contracts. Even who signed damn and fox is debatable. Dowie claims credit for that.

@ Grenduffy and summerisle.

The idea to get back to the prem was the right one from Ranson. The minute SISU sold Dann and Fox set alarm bells ringing in Ransons head. Any football lover would have done the same as he did...Get out, and get out as fast as you can!:blue:

Ranson could have signed Andy Carroll in exchange for some tracksuits, you know. SHITSCUMSU wouldn't part with a single pair of joggers.

He is part of the blame, along with Richardson, Mcginnity, Robinson, Hover, All the hidden Sisu staff & players from 2001 to date for the mess we in!
He did some good, but how much do we know?

I thought Ranson was great.

But I was wrong.
Talked a good game and I was just happy at the time that we had new owners with 'good' intentions and we weren't in admin. I remember drinking some champagne that December night in 2007.

How wrong I was....
