I went in the away end today, with my colu mates and was simply stunned by how good we were, was a bit surreal going there and hope all the crap gets sorted because that was the most collective and together a cov side as ive seen, i know it was against a weak colchester but was still awesome

murphy-6 nothing to do
christie-8 solid and monster threat going forward
adams-8 skillfull and brilliant going forward
clarke-8 very solid, won alot of aerial balls! Good on the ball
webster-7 bit clumsy but solid game
baker-6 good in patches drifted in and out of game
fleck-9 ran the game
thomas-9 won the ball and helped fleck run game, very impressive
moussa-7 bit out of position on left but such ability, bit wastful today
clarke-6 bad day at office, shudave had 5 or 6 goals
wilson-8 quick agile and super confident

Murphy - N/A - don't feel I can rate him. Had nothing to do apart from punch away a set piece or two.

Christie - 8 - Had both their left-backs on toast throughout the game and defended solidly when needed.
Webster - 7 - Solid enough, better on the ball than I expected. Calming influence.
J Clarke - 10 - Can't fault him, unbelievable performance. He's not playing CB out of necessity, in fact he's very important to our play. We forced Colchester to thump the ball away, and instead of heading it straight back, Clarke would bring the ball down, and start a new attack from the back. Not often at this level is a centre back so composed and so capable as an attacking influence. Defended very well too.
Adams - 7 - Good performance. The left side was a bit quieter than the right, but defensively he was solid and got the assist for the opener.

Baker - 8 - Really good link up with Christie, we looked like scoring every time we attacked down the right. Drifted inside well to provide a valuable extra midfield passing option.
Thomas - 8 - The least eye-catching of the midfield 4, but he does the donkey work. Along with Fleck, dominated against a 3 man midfield in the first half.
Fleck - 9 - His range of passing is above anyone I've seen at the club for a long time. A lot fitter than he was last year as well. Worked incredibly hard joining the front 2 to press the Colchester defence and keeper, forcing them to go long, ineffectively, for the entire game. One of a number of players who've improved immensely under Pressley.
Moussa - 7 - Always looks a threat running with the ball. A 'nearly' performance from him today, a number of his through balls just missed their target, but he worried their defence sufficiently to create space elsewhere.

L Clarke - 8 - Brilliant in the first 75 minutes. Dominated the centre backs giving Wilson space, and was always sniffing out scoring opportunities. Loses a point for not taking one of his chances. Looked to be sulking a bit in the last 15 minutes as he was again denied by the keeper. Not great to see but it was clear he wanted to cap a great performance with a goal.
Wilson - 8 - Very sharp, has a great understanding with Clarke. Was very impressed with how he took the second goal in particular, very calm in waiting for the keeper to commit before rolling it in. From the moment he went through you had confidence he'd score. A great feeling to have about a striker.

The subs all came on when the game was petering out somewhat so impossible to rate their performances really.

These marks may look quite high, but it really was that good. I don't think I've ever seen a more one-sided game, certainly not one involving CCFC anyway. Also, the match experience at Sixfields, while better than I expected, is just not the same as it would be in Coventry. I'm glad I went though because Pressley, his staff, and the players do deserve support. Here's hoping we can see performances like that in front of tens of thousands at the Ricoh rather than a couple of thousand in Northampton sooner rather than later.

Posted these beauts in the Colchester match thread.

Murphy: 6 - Had absolute fuck all to do. Was strong for a couple of corners he was needed for and that's it.

Chrisite: 9 - This guy... this guy was outstanding. Rapid down the right. Took on his man, and won, a lot. Crossed the ball really well, and could've had a couple of goals too. Col made a change after 20 minutes, and i'm pretty sure it's because the man was getting torn a new one by Cyrus. The guy who took his place didn't do much better.

Webster: 7 - Strong and simple. Did his job and did it well.

Clarke: 9 - The 'weak link' as I had him called from people around me. Wow. Had Ibehre on toast, bearing in mind the size difference of the two. Great touch, great confidence. Never in doubt from start to finish.

Adams: 8 - Had a quite 1st half as most of the play was going down the right, but it was his shot that got parried into Wilson's path. Just as effective as Chrisite down the left. Rapid, took his man on, and won, and just as tidy at the back.

Fleck: 9 - I'm laughed at alot for comparing this guy to Paul Scholes, but that's exactly the type of player he is. He sat in the centre all game, picking the ball up, and either laying it to feet or squirting 40 yard balls, all accurately. He had a great game today. Threw in some good tackles throughout, and was always quick to close down.

Thomas: 8 - Strong, quick, simple, effective. The bloke is becoming the player we all hoped he would become. Plays really well with Fleck.

Bake: 8 - Had a great game. Some baaaaaarrrre skills and absolutely sublime touches.

Moussa: 8 - Had Colchester on toast. The class this guy showed today was outstanding. Some absolute silk when he took his man on.

Clarke: 8 - How this man didn't score a hat trick is beyond me. Hit the post twice, the bar once, just wide 3 times, and Walker pulled a worldie save towards the end. The way Leon holds the ball up is incredible. Like a classic big man, holds up, lays off, and he's gone. Outstanding today.

Wilson: 9 - Pppsssshh.. no one can handle this kid right now. The guy has so much confidence it's unreal. Very quick to react for the 1st, and such technique for the 2nd. It looked Robbie Keane vs Derby-esq... he made it look so simple. If he keeps injury free he'll get to 20 goals no problem.

I forgot to mention one moment in the second half when Moussa had a couple of defenders around him. He stopped, waited, put his foot on the ball then rolled it slowly through the legs of one of the defenders with the sole of his boot.

I can't emphasise enough how slowly the ball rolled through the guy's legs, and yet he could do nothing about it. Absolutely beautiful.

They all played well, on the day not a single weakness!

Superb Management and good tactical substitutions and I couldn't select a single player as MOTM but Christie, Clarke ( both ), Fleck & Wilson were outstanding IMHO! PUSB.

From the Hill... It seemed everyone had a good game.
Baker looked like Baker of last season rather than the very average one at Shrews.
Wilson was a threat always, as was Clarke.
Fleck was just a class act throughout.

What are the opinions towards Fleck now of all those who slagged him off last season?

I reckon they'll be saying he's playing well. The same as last season people were saying he was playing shit.

Because this season he is playing well, and last season he was playing shit.

Pretty simple really.
