He had a good game last night but I have my doubts still, there was loads of space out there that he wouldn't get in the league and he seemed to struggle in tight spaces.
Struggled in tight spaces? Did you watch the game. He made the goal from tight spaces

Looks great with the ball at his feet running at defenders. No point trying to play intricate football with him though, looks shite with his back to goal. Stick to his strengths.

I was sceptical, but last night saw the bones of potentially something useful.

He was direct, quick and wanted to go on outside - something we lack on wings.

Still very raw and light physically and fitness wise, but ive got more hope we could end up with something - next step can he come on for 15-20 min cameo and impact championship games, that would be huge bonus!!!

Bonus of winning, he can get another game in the 2nd round now.

No he didn't? He had loads of space to run into there.

I'm talking about when he didn't have the space to run or when he got to the byline and slowed it down a bit he looked clunky.

I agree, he's not technically as good as Saka (from the limited evidence we've seen) so I don't know how much use he'd be against a low block.

But if we're one nil up and the opposition are coming at us he could be a very useful weapon to hit them on the break with space to run into.

Think Saka's close control etc. means he is particularly useful in home games when the opposition often sit back. But Rapha has the potential to be useful for us in away games (especially in the 2nd half against tired legs) where we are under the cosh and there is more space for him to operate in.

In fact, I can see him and BTA being very useful subs to bring on late in games (BTA on the left, not in the middle) when that pace can trouble the opposition. Don't see either as being regular starters for us, but useful squad members. Our new keepers long throws towards either of them could be very productive for us too.

He was signed as a developmental player who is obviously very talented. You don't sign players drag them across the planet for them not to be.

But the key word again by FL is attitude, he has the tools to be a good pro, but does his attitude allow him to have the desire to make it in our game. His path will be a good one if he ducks his nut and opens his ears. Because he has pace, skill is there, he just needs more game minutes to build up his strength.

Patience is needed by the fans, because his style and age will bring inconsistent performances. But within the squad someone he respects has told him to do well in the game his talent is not enough, its attitude that will make the difference. I hope he keeps taking these steps and keeps getting opportunities to show it. He will stay in 1st team squads ahead of certain others and will get better.

The Wizard of Oz, our boy Wonder,

On the ball, here the Sky Blue Thunder,

You better run, you better take cover.
Rare I laugh out loud at forum posts but Paxmans post about bringing back Hamer and whatever the fuck this is have made me do it twice in 5 minutes.
