Excited to see what Eccles can bring in a deeper role. Combined with Sakamoto’s work rate out of possession, it’s a lot more conservative (in theory) than what we’ve seen in recent weeks. A lot of options off the bench if we need to ramp things up too.
Rudoni also does a decent amount of defensive work, especially higher up the pitch

Right, I am out with time to kill and want to watch the game. Never used a VPN before, or iFollow.

So, just downloaded Nord and signed up to City's iFollow. But won't that pick up on the fact that I have a UK postcode? Or will that just be ignored because the VPN is saying I am abroad (in a cattle field in Nepal at the moment)

Any advice would be most gratefully received.

😎
Should be fine - your VPN essentially routes your connection through a server in another geography.

I'm happy with the starting lineup.

If Eccles works with Grimes in midfield, rather than going forwards in a gung-ho fashion, it should help with our midfield problems. I like Torp but Eccles is better defensively.

I would also like to see our wing-backs not constantly venturing far upfield, often in front of the wingers, and then struggling to get back in time to deal with a quick counter-attack.

A few little tweaks will, I think, go some way to sorting our recent problems out. We have Rudoni (who I hope is back to something near his best) as an AM, two good wingers and an in-form striker in Simms so we are certainly capable of scoring a goal or two.

Just needs a deeper starting position for the 2nd CM, which I think Eccles will naturally do and then a bit more in game communication/understanding of which, and when, the wingbacks join the attacks. I would hope that's all they've been doing in training this week!

We really need to try to get Brau out on loan before window shuts, I think. Despite him losing pace, still reckon Bidwell is a more useful member of the squad. He has good positional sense, which we lack defensively.

Torp had a poor performance personally vs Norwich too, missed passes and lost duels constantly.

On the surface of things it looks like a pretty good team and bench. Just hope to fuck they’re not getting revved up to get into personal physical battles with their direct opponents. Keep the ball on the deck and play the sexy football that got us into this good position. If there’s not a simple pass then be patient , keep the ball and wait for the right opportunity.

Given Lampards comments about the pitch wouldn't be surprised to see us go a bit more direct.

I suspect Lampard feels the same, especially at left back.

Surprised Brau hasn't been loaned out
