Not sure on the Boro Norwich game now. I would have said Boro would win that, but I was impressed with Norwich last night and can see them possibly getting something out of that gameIpswich will spank Preston at home, the form they’re in and I think Boro will be too much at home to Norwich. Best we can hope for there is a draw.
Think both will win but if not, Boro draw and Ipswich win.
So more of the same then!Rushworth
MVE-Thomas-Kitching-JDS
Grimes-Torp/Eccles
Esse-Rudi/Eccles-EMC
Wright
Drop the 2nd CM deeper to close the gaps in the midfield. Having a midfield at 10 rather than BTA will also add support in there.
If we don't go mad with the tactics we should have far more than enough,
Looking forward to this and will be on a train from cove sometime between 9am and 10am on Saturday.
Clearly not as I clearly explained in the post.So more of the same then!
Same players.Clearly not as I clearly explained in the post.
Different fucking positions on the pitch, I explain this.Same players.
Let me break this down for you.Same players.
Must win. That’s all there’s to it.
It'll be the the same shite, withDifferent fucking positions on the pitch, I explain this.
So no it's not more of the same,
You realise it wasn't just last night? We have been overrun in nearly every game since November. Even the last 2 home games we luckily won. At the moment, it is like watching the young kids, in their first 11 side game. No idea about positioning, where they should be playing. It is embarrassing.Let me break this down for you.
Last night we set up like this in possession
Rushworth
Thomas-Kitching-Grimes
No one in a CDM position
MVE-Esse-Torp-EMC-JDS
BTA-Wright
The issues with this are as follows:
The distance between the 3 players who are at the back and rest of the team means that in our build up stage it is easy for the opposition to make us go long which they were set up to deal with.
The same distance/Gap between The back 3 positioned players and the rest of the team also then means that when the opposition turn the ball over they have a free run towards the 3 players we have back which allows them to overrun us in midfield as we struggle to get back to order defensive shape which is 4-4-2.
What we can do with the "same players" is set up more like this in possession:
Rushworth
Thomas-Kitching-Grimes
Torp
Rudi/Eccles
MVE-Esse-EMC-JDS
Wright
This is dropping Torp back from the basically a 2nd no.10 role he was in yesterday to a more of a 6 or CDM role and having the player at 10 operate slightly deeper than BTA was operating in last night.
This helps fill the gap in our midfield and can help to slow teams down in transition and allow us to actually get into our defensive shape
It also helps us build attacks better as having the extra 2 players deeper will give us more short passing options and allows us to attempt to play through teams rather than as what happened last night where Grimes or a CB would look up and there would be Norwich players between them and the rest of the team forcing them to play it longer.
I'd be very surprised based on last night's game if Norwich get anything at Middlesbrough.I said before the game that I was more confident for this than I was for last night and I will stick with that, I fancy us to at least not lose this one
If we play 2 games back to back, away from home like we are doing here I do have in my mind we might well lose one of them - So a win here would really take the sting out of last night and tee up a winnable home game v Oxford and the crunch game with Boro nicely
Can't see PNE doing us a good turn at Portman Rd, but Norwich are a potential banana skin for Boro - Fingers crossed
this is it - still had 16 shots last night and our xG was higher than norwichWe're still creating chances so hopefully a few tactical tweaks will be enough to see us win here.
I agreeI'd be very surprised based on last night's game if Norwich get anything at Middlesbrough.
I thought they were an okay side, better than the the table would have you believe and only 2pts off Boro in the form table since their manager got the gigI'd be very surprised based on last night's game if Norwich get anything at Middlesbrough.
Yes because we have been doing the same thing for a while, did you even read what I said? It'll be the the same shite, with

Would be funny if they weren't grown men.
What are they like when something serious actually happens?
Basically played that last night, but nice to see Mike Bassett has a log in
What if we lost and continued losing after that? Why? What if we din't and then win the next 2 home games?
What if we lost and continued losing after that?
Given we have a team full of strikers and were chasing to equalise for best part of 30 minutes at the end you'd be surprised otherwise.this is it - still had 16 shots last night and our xG was higher than norwich
Our xG in the 23 minutes + injury time after their goal was about 0.65 from a total of 1.90, not really a disproportionate share.Given we have a team full of strikers and were chasing to equalise for best part of 30 minutes at the end you'd be surprised otherwise.
