CCFC Finance Director
I think there is a lot of truth in what you say Diehard Si. Our problems come from selling off the ground we owned for one that wasnt even off the drawing board. It was ill thought out and ill conceived and you cannot blame any of the current participants for that.
However SISU drove a bargain that wiped off £35m of our debt in 2008. Agreed to take over around £9m net debt, but didnt do their homework on what they were getting in to. There was a model that could have seen the club not accrueing more debt even if they didnt own the stadium, there was an opportunity to but into the stadium since day 1,...... all to be done done with a great amount of fan support............. choices were made not to and to take another path. The current mess is largely of SISU's own making
other stuff
Honestly not sure what some people expect from Council and Charity. These are not organisations set up to be at the beck and call of a football club or to buy a stadium just for that club. They have to invest in the best interests of the City and its taxpayers. They have to invest with a social conscience. They have be sure that they get best value for their investments and to ensure what they start ends up in safe hands. The stadium is far more than CCFC. The stadium has to provide income to finance the risk they took, to finance a facility that with out which CCFC would have been gone years ago. The stakeholders and ACL have repeatedly said they are willing to negotiate to change the amount perhaps even the calculation of rent - surely it is obvious why this hasnt happened ? There has to be at least two sides to a negotiation.
Mr Hoffman might be lurking in the shadows waiting to step in, if he is you can expect there to be others too, so long as they are not saddled with the SISU debt and ACL are open to negotiation on the rent. But lets be clear they including Hoffman do not have access to very much more or even any information that we dont already know. They have not started any negotiation and in GH's case havent been involved in CCFC finances for a couple of years - he certainly isnt in the Board room at matches is he!
TF - suddenly gone quiet again and SW been wheeled out to do CWR. Maybe told to be quiet by she who must be obeyed ? perhaps reminded that the information he is divulging is in part covered by a non disclosure agreement ? perhaps informed that action will be taken if he keeps it up ?
Lot of things to come out yet I think. What this week has done is to help shorten any timelines for any decisive action from all parties.
