So we're slowly but surely hanging off the ledge of the trapdoor of league one football, and there are a few things that in my opinion need changing imminently if we want any hope of getting some points on the board;

1. Keogh for Captain....Our most consistent performer and a must in the squad every week. Why not award the captaincy to him.
Then Sammy Clingan, who has had some dreadful performances this season (We had the Derby near screw-up, yesterdays goal, and a number of TERRIBLE free kicks and attempts on goal that don't hit the target) will have to FIGHT for his squad status just like everybody else.

2. An Eastwood return.....A much debated topic, but Eastwood is arguably one of our best - We are lacking quality in the final third, and we're trying to ship off a player who can actually move the ball around well, take on defenders and will have a crack on goal when he finds himself in space. To the Sheeples who don't attend games and will no doubt have someone else's opinion to reiterate about Fredward being a cruddy player, FYI during pre-season he was linking up well with the youngsters and looked just as good if not much better than O'Donovan who literally has just one weapon in his arsenal - try and get in behind and run at goal. Freddie has a whole arsenal full of weapons, and at 50% he is still more talented and effective than most on our squad list. To write him off as fat, lazy, crap e.t.c. is just a showcase of ignorance. Even the most respected posters can all see talent in Freddy, just no work ethic. Give him a challenge, tell him to put himself in the shop window, and leave Coventry on a high. Surely it's better than repeatedly playing our headless chicken AKA David Bell.

3. And to facilitate these changes - I feel bad even typing this, but how about Carsley for manager, or at the very least number two. I like Andy Thorn, but his record speaks for itself, and having a post-game strop is not good management. In addition, making ineffective, too-late, or no substitutions when we are down, or tiring has cost us games.

It's time to stop talking about how great performances were, or how we are nearly there, or how bad SISU are. As much as I agree with all these comments, points on the board are what's required.

Before someone attacks me for my opinions - i read enough dumb opinions here every week.

Agree with points but I thing Eastwoods fitness is an issue at moment but if fit is better than what we have got on the pitch at moment . Clingan don't give a shit anymore cos he's off in january

I think they are decent suggestions. I do think there would be a negative impact if the armband was taken off Sammy at this stage in the season but I would love to see Keogh as captain.

I saw Freddy during the Norwich pre-season. He didn't look too bad. Didn't look too great either. He has been sitting in the stands at one or two of our home matches. I can't help but think there's an underlining issue that we don't know about.

As for the management issue. Something's got to change but I just don't think we can afford a change in that department.

I honestly think that if a new manager came in Freddy would be back in the fold. I do second the call for Keogh as captain. Also think Thorn is out of his depth and the option a new manager needs to be given serious consideration.

Fitness thing was a smokescreen IMO - Andy Thorn has made a very bold statement when he said Freddy was done. If Freddy wasn't match fit or anywhere near, then they wouldn't have bothered trying to send him out on loan - he would have failed the associated fitness tests/medical presumably?

Here's how I feel;

We win a FK in a dangerous area.

I watch Sammy walk over to the ball.

Instead of thinking, we've got them now. I fear the free kick going way over or wide of the goal.

Either my fears come true and the ball goes NOWHERE near the target. OR....It hits the wall, opposition launch a counter attack with plenty of squeaky bum moments in the stands which Cranie or Keogh heroically save.

It just should not be like this.

As far as Freddy goes, the interested sides speak volumes: Plymouth, Bournemouth and Cheltenham. And he didn't pass the fitness test for one of those as he had a convenient injury when it would have been due. I think he'll go back to Southend next season. AND score against us, of course.

I'm with you all the way until point 3. Would rather keep AT but if he did go then I we would definitely need some experience.

Fully agree with the sentiments re Freddie but think that matters have gone too far with AT for him to bring Freddie back. Of course another Manager just might.

Eastwood is better than McDonald imo. McDonald looks unfit. Is like to see dennis wise in the dugout.

Keogh might be OK, but you need a leader, Richard Wood is the only other candidate I can see, but he isn't in the side, he might be if he gets a bit fitter, sad isn't it.
Willl Sammy go to be replaced by Michael Brown, could be, Leeds were suposed to be interested in him in the summer wern't they?
ROD has never scored at this level.
Didn't Freddy tear his calf, that is months out? He isn't arsed any how, if he was he would get fit.
Carsely might become a manager some day, but bringing him in is no panacea.

Completely disagree with all three points. Keogh is my choice as captain for next season, he shouldn't be associated with our demise, it confirms Sammy will not sign a new contract and underminse teh dressing room. Eastwood is a cock who has had many chances, is undeserving of more, sends the wrong message to the team and his complete lack of respect for them, the club and us shows them that your actions are not made accountable. Could understand the excuse for Messi but FE isn't even any good. Finally Thorns time probably is up but if all we can do is replace him with another unproven manager who we won't back with any finance then what's the point?

Think Turner would have been a good captain if we hadn't sold him!
