So we're slowly but surely hanging off the ledge of the trapdoor of league one football, and there are a few things that in my opinion need changing imminently if we want any hope of getting some points on the board;
1. Keogh for Captain....Our most consistent performer and a must in the squad every week. Why not award the captaincy to him.
Then Sammy Clingan, who has had some dreadful performances this season (We had the Derby near screw-up, yesterdays goal, and a number of TERRIBLE free kicks and attempts on goal that don't hit the target) will have to FIGHT for his squad status just like everybody else.
2. An Eastwood return.....A much debated topic, but Eastwood is arguably one of our best - We are lacking quality in the final third, and we're trying to ship off a player who can actually move the ball around well, take on defenders and will have a crack on goal when he finds himself in space. To the Sheeples who don't attend games and will no doubt have someone else's opinion to reiterate about Fredward being a cruddy player, FYI during pre-season he was linking up well with the youngsters and looked just as good if not much better than O'Donovan who literally has just one weapon in his arsenal - try and get in behind and run at goal. Freddie has a whole arsenal full of weapons, and at 50% he is still more talented and effective than most on our squad list. To write him off as fat, lazy, crap e.t.c. is just a showcase of ignorance. Even the most respected posters can all see talent in Freddy, just no work ethic. Give him a challenge, tell him to put himself in the shop window, and leave Coventry on a high. Surely it's better than repeatedly playing our headless chicken AKA David Bell.
3. And to facilitate these changes - I feel bad even typing this, but how about Carsley for manager, or at the very least number two. I like Andy Thorn, but his record speaks for itself, and having a post-game strop is not good management. In addition, making ineffective, too-late, or no substitutions when we are down, or tiring has cost us games.
It's time to stop talking about how great performances were, or how we are nearly there, or how bad SISU are. As much as I agree with all these comments, points on the board are what's required.
Before someone attacks me for my opinions - i read enough dumb opinions here every week.
