Well I assume the scheduling is deliberate and its that I take issue with. It could have been on the Saturday. Pitting against fans going to see the real team is totally divisive.

Well people keep saying they want to watch a game of football and most watch them anyway and not just as its at the Ricoh.

Well I do want to go and watch sphinx at some point but it has proved hard with timing. Watching sphinx (or anyone) would be more attractive if it was at the Ricoh though surely you see that? Nice comfortable stadium etc. etc.

It doesn't bring the Trust down to their level and slightly validates the club going on about the Trust being "in" with ACL. The club say they are wary and act like dicks because they think the Trust are "in with" ACL, the Trust the next week get behind an event at ACL's "house".

I think by playing it down the line, it just made them look bad (not the trust). Granted it didn't get us anywhere.

It now gives the club / sisu more ammo against the Trust "Look, we said they were in with ACL".

So does the ticket money go straight in to ACL's pocket? Do you not think that it is supporting local football? Why do you see it as ACL's house and not ours?

It is still putting people in the position of having to choose and causing division. With the Trust openly backing an event at the Ricoh it could be seen as backing ACL again. If it was neutral at say Sphinx or if the Women's team were at the Oval it would be a different story wouldn't it?

It is the same as if the Trust were encouraging people to go to Sixfields, it would be the same but on the other foot.

I think people already know that more people will attend in Coventry than Northampton? It stands out as some sort of response to the SCG meeting to prove a point but all it will do is drive apart the club and trust even more, the way Steve / The trust has been has made them look "above it" and it was great as it only made the club look bad and the trust smell of roses. (in my opinion)

Should'nt that question be addressed to Cov ladies as they are the ones who have switched venue for their Cup games ,are.nt they just trying to increase their revenues and fanbase within the City?

Because ACL own it.

I don't just mean about the ticket money, it is just a week after the club acted like dicks to Steve / The Trust the trust may promote an event there which could potentially prove they had a point.

There is local football on all of the time that isn't at the Ricoh AND at the same time as a CCFC game.

Of course, no issue with Cov Ladies at all. I hope they win the cup.

Virtually all Ladies fixtures are on a Sunday, so the scheduling is not deliberate in the sense that you seem to suggest - ie. deliberately going up against CCFC games. And they are both 'real teams', just different genders!

I haven't said that it was the ladies that have rearranged just to rival CCFC? It is the "trust promote this and lets get more here than at Sixfields".

Are you saying that watching women's football will be a wankfest?

How is it supporting local football? No one would give a stuff if it didn't clash against a CCFC fixture. That's the only motivation for people to go. You can see that from the usual sneering posters on here.

I would still like to know what the media story will be if it flops and like last time hardly anyone shows up,

I assume ACL are kindly waiving their usual fee for this one.

I would have thought threats from Sisu and ML's spanish inquisition towards the trust has put paid to that.

I am not too sure, as some people see ACL / CCC also to blame surely it could be seen as backing them? It also alienates trust members who go to Sixfields and seems to be moving away from the "representing all fans" that it was? Not a dig or having a go.

If it was at Bedworth Oval then maybe.

I still think if there was a local non league game on a different day that thousands of city fans turned up to, it would get more press.

I don't see what it could achieve apart from distancing it's self from the club and getting closer to ACL again?

Your highlighted first point (and apologies if someone else has already said), are you saying then that also applies to people going to Sixfields and backing Sisu. Could it just be fans going to watch a match (local team bearing the cities name) in the city it plays in? If it brings a few extra quid to the ladies team then why not?

Is it me being dim or is there genuinely no point this? What will it highlight other than the fans want to be back at the Ricoh, which is something all parties are already aware of, if I was the Trust I would be looking at ways to rebuild bridges with CCFC and looking for a way to try and get all parties round the table for sensible discussions, even if they have to mediate them.

How can the trust re-build bridges with CCFC when you have arseholes like Labovitch saying what he said at the last SCG meeting. To me, it should be the club building the bridges after that last meeting.

Yes, but it has also proved them slightly right about ACL? (I am not saying they are, just that it may look that way)

Club: We don't trust you because we think you work with ACL
Trust: We don't work with them and aren't linked at all

The next week

Trust: Come and watch this game at the Ricoh that happens to be at the same time as a CCFC Game

This isn't me endorsing the way CCFC were with the trust, I do think it is out of order but think this is playing into their hands a bit.

Nick
It was an open meeting and enjoyable, the suggestion from the members present is that we get behind the Ladies team on the 16th, almost everyone in the room (including those who go to Sixfields) agreed that the CCFC ladies deserved our support. We are a democratic group and as far as I am concerned our members can say what they wish. At the meeting last night we had a few suggestions some we could agree to support but others we have to decline and suggest they do not take any further.

Realistically what will it achieve other than a bit more "us vs them" and more ammo for the club against the Trust? Yes it may get a few lines the paper, what then?

Nick you're not listening its not a trust sponsored game it was discussed by some members of the trust at an open meeting. There are a lot of people on here who are members who moan about what was and wasn't said but dont bother going to meetings you will see everybody there just wants CCFC back in Coventry ok99% there are some who wont go if Sisu are still the owners but thats true of other fans who aren't members. As far as I can see The Trust is not siding with anyone apart from the fans and thats all of them who want us back home in Coventry.

So watching CCFC at sixfields is supporting the team .......... but watching CCFC ladies at the Ricoh is supporting ACL?

You can't have it both ways.

Go to the FA with? FFS, SISU took the club out of Coventry to Northampton and the FA endorsed it. Why is turning up to a ladies game going to suddenly make them think "you know, there's more to this Coventry situation than we first thought"?

Can;t argue with that. I feel I go to Sixfields to support my team and if people want to go to the Ricoh then fair play to them. I certainly don't have issue with it. My thoughts are just that it won't help the current situation.

Why are you so concerned with what they think ???
Well its obvious the way you think because you don't endorse what ccfc did to the trust.
Maybe you need reminding that Ccfc are not sisu and sisu are not ccfc !!

I just find it ironic the claim this idea is not divisive. If that were true then surely there wouldn´t be so much heated comments Like it or not this idea is divisive. Whether or not it should be so is a totally different question.

IF the Trust were promoting Sixfields then it would work the other way. BHSB has said it isn't a trust event so won't be marketing it but what I meant was the Trust getting behind it.

It would be the same as people watching CCFC at Sixfields as long as they have been supporting the ladies team for years and aren't only going out of spite and to prove a point I guess.

It is alienating a section of the fans the trust represent but again your take is "oh well".

The only way to make big things happen is to get people agreed and together rather than causing more "splits" and "divisions".

In that case the minority must be joining the majority and boycott sixfields.
