Thought Wright did ok to be honest. Certainly not the lower scores being given above.

He was a great save and a lucky offside away from bagging a brace. His touch was decent and looked to be finding space behind.
It's a difficult one with Wright. I agree with all that you've said above and I thought he looked more of a threat than he has for months, but then he missed the target from 3 yards with that header and lost his marker for the goal.

Teams have learned to press us hard and their goal came as an indirect result.

Their striker pressed Rushworth hard and as a result he hurried a kick into touch. Attacking throw in - cross - goal.

Now then: BTA pressed and harried opponent back lines. Neither Wright nor Simms really do; they have a vague jog in the direction for the most part (sometimes they actually do but not enough).

In an era of 5 subs and space age diets and elite fitness we should be able to tell our strikers to charge keepers and hope for mistakes.

In a wingback or attacking fullback system you expect your CB to come across. Thomas always does this on the right Kitching never does on the left.

Dasilva was in position to cut out the cross. Yes lets get Kitching to close him down as well. Perhaps Dasilva should move into the box to challenge for the aerial cross.

The team kept laying off to Grimes to pump a looping ball into the far post from the left but he was overhitting the crosses.
Saka kept making space to get his crosses in but they were generally low and flat and intercepted by the defenders.
EMC proved quite dangerous on the left.
Was the Preston defender opposite DaSilva slow or something, in the 1st half Rushworth tried a throw past him for DaSilva to chase & I thought no chance DaSilva is one if not the of the slowest in our team but by heck he nearly broke free there.
I thought KKH was OK and looked a threat on the edge of the box but the dynamic between him & Saka isn't there like it is with Saka & MVE.

I think I have seen it TBF, not sure how often though,of course I
1st half last night he was kind of forced to as Woolfy was there.

Do you think the wind may have had a part, I don't know which way it was blowing but it was fairly strong ,and the pitch made keeping it low a bit difficult?

The pitch really didn't help with crossing, every lay off seemed to bobble up. The pitch is probably quite heavy underfoot as well which doesn't help aside from the bobbles.

It's hard to believe their pitch is in such a bad state not even half way through the season, it was as bad as any pitch I've seen in recent years even down to L2 level.

I don’t think this can be underestimated. Also probably the reason we had only 3 out of the 20 shots on target when we’ve been a lot more clinical this season. Apart from the sloppy equaliser I thought we played well under the circumstances

There was one pass from rudoni to saka { i think } towards the end of the game that looked simple but ended up going out for a goal kick , pitch was poor

Agree with most of that but not the Dasilva part. Until the back end of last season I thought he was a weak link and opposition targeted him over the top or balls in the air, but never seen him as a slouch and always thought he was reasonably quick. Not as quick as MVE on the other side of course, nowhere near but not slow either.

I wouldn't blame the pitch, I've seen Rudoni do similar at the CBS. He just messed it up.

Haji shouldnt be in the box defending at that point against 10 men , and really not against their striker

Just my thought

It isn't just your thoughts, it's mine too, tactical error by Frank Lampard and his coaching staff, if we clear the ball there's no one to counter attack plus it means they have to leave one or two men back to defend in case of a breakaway. 🤔

I think we were expecting them to try and cross from deep there, they had two strikers on at that point, had five players in the box. Can understand why Haji was back.

The goal was down to expecting a long throw but them going short instead and then our left hand side not bothering to track or make a tackle.

It was obviously the pitch in this case to be fair to him, though I think he delayed the pass a bit too long anyway
I saw it quite close up and basically he over hit it and got the angle wrong, he was quite displeased with himself.

That’s just the way he plays. It’s not tiredness.
Rudoni was marking the guy who crossed for the goal running along side him. JDS came over as back up and the cross came over. Think that was really their only decent chance.
JDS, shooting aside was excellent.
Haji was class.
Think Torp, Rudi an EMC were not 100% fit.
KKH has not found his form yet. The Preston fans thought he was poor compared with his performances for them.
Everyone else was fine.
Shit pitch, shit weather, opponents who wanted to make it a scrap rather than a football match and a ground we cannot win at in the league, no matter what our form is.
Linesman and Lineswoman excellent. Ref good, other than the foul on Eccles which I thought warranted a yellow.
